Sad movies, I believe, are the best movies ever... and I reallylike watching them...
Which movie, do you think is the saddest?

If you need help deciding, here are 17 very sad films that I liked...

I'm a southern woman.. watching Steel Magnolias makes me cry every time. Another one is Nights in Rodanthe, the scene towards the end... so powerful.
 
OMG Atonement is my fav romantic movie. It's really sad yeah.
Otherwise the most powerful and heartbreaking film I've seen is Breaking The Waves
 
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a very good movie and sad. I think the Green Mile is another one too. Looks like I need to watch Atonement! I may get it this week.

As far as Titanic goes.... I agree its pretty sad.... not because all the people that died.... but because ROSE was being a selfish B*tch!, there was plenty of Room for Jack on that piece of wood :curse: and the body warmth would have been good for them both..... But no selfish Rose only cared about herself and let Jack die!

I was gonna say The Green Mile but a few people beat me to it though so i'll go with something different....

The John Travolta one Phenomenon... i got a little choked up when John found out he had a brain tumour and he was gonna die.
 
I can't believe nobody has mentioned 'Beaches' yet, or 'Kids' then there's 'The Blind Side', 'The Mist', 'Se7en', "Set It Off'... Sooo many lol​
 
The voice over at the end of Marley and Me. When Owen Wilson is talking about Marley... man... I'm getting choked up thinking about it.....:reallysad:
 
I'm a big baby so, I honestly can find anything in a movie to cry to. Seriously... even Star Wars. Here are saddest currently:

  1. The Notebook (!!! late to the party I know)
  2. My Sister's Keeper
  3. Marley & Me (THIS DESTROYED ME AND I HATE WHOEVER RECOMMENDED THIS TO ME)
  4. Inside Out
 
The movies that I can think of at the top of my head are

1) The Grapes of Wrath movie.
2) Tobacco Road
3) Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea.

More modern movies would be Sweeney Todd, Troy and to a certian extent Downfall and Saving Private Ryan
 
That movie that came out last year entitled Room. OHMYGOD I was crying from start to finish and it wasn't even the pregnancy hormones

I did not see mentioned, "Where the red fern grows", so that is my contribution to the list
 
I watch a lot of movies (Kodi addons provide me with a huge collection). It is difficult to name only one sad film. The first ones that have just come to my mind are One Day, The Green Mile, Legends of the Fall, Seven Pounds and City of Angels.
 
Marley and Me for sure. I hate movies where great animals end up dying. TOGO was the most recent that made me start tearing up. I also anything with a kid like the Kid in the Stripped Pajamas.
 
King kong is sad, especially the 2006 version. Love never dies, and Frankenstein is sad also. Omg I named all monster movies wtf

beaches was good too i even have bett middlers album on my portable hardrive (you are the wind beneath my wings)
 
The Shack. Saw it once and I dont think Id be able to get through it again.

Not a movie, but the final episode of Boy Meets World. That last scene is a killer.
 
Hachiko is definitely the saddest movie of all the times.
I just rewatched it the other day after finally setting up the firestick with the tv and then pairing it with the tv
(thanks this article for the detailed instructions, not sure I would be able to figure out everything by myself only).

Also, I agree with @maiseymac, about Lion. I couldn't stop crying at the end. So good. The theme song by Dustin O'Halloran & Hauschka is also really well done.
