Safety for a Mentally Disabled Woman

Dearinat000 is developmentally disabled and I will only disclose her real name in private dialogue with moderation for proof. This woman is a highly vulnerable adult with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Reactive Attachment Disorder (and cognitive/social developmental disabilities that comes alongside those). She has the cognitive development of an 8yo. She does not fully understand the risks of interacting with some people in here and is currently exposing herself to possible manipulation with how much she actively seeks out a romantic/sexual relationship with random people within the chat (myself included). She has gone missing as a runaway multiple times in her state, and I wouldn't like to see her end up going missing again from meeting the wrong guy online.

I believe an IP ban might be able to cover for her safety. I am not a guardian and I can not request this on her behalf, but I do believe the moderation needs to take some sort of action to prevent her from entering this chat room again. She will not get better and is mentally incapable of doing such, so permanent action might be the only solution in my mind.

The most vulnerable people are what the predators prey upon, Nothing online is real or genuine it's a whole web of lies.I would ban them before something really bad ends up happening ,and they meet the wrong person online in person,people come to chatrooms with certain motives-tendencies.

Vulnerable people trust anyone and believe what anyone may tell them as well, and don't understand the dangers and malice people exhibit in those rooms low-key.


Thanks for speaking up for someone who can't speak ,or defend themselves.
 
First off, I think its safe to say you did the right thing in making me aware. Although you should have privately contacted me or another moderator and not put this on blast. I don't know this chatter and have never seen them speak. If you know this person and that much about them, I suggest you contact authorities in her jurisdiction and voice your concerns. If they had these disabilities there would be some sort of guardianship in place. A simple ban is not the solution, as nothing would be stopping them from making a new account and continuing the behavior.

I welcome all suggestions here, but please be serious and keep it on track without making a mockery of it saying things like "chat master only cares about dirty money"

@NorCal is who you want to discuss this with, privately. Provide the Boys Admin with as much information so they can keep alert for any signs this user is being taken advantage of. With that said though, they are an Adult, even if they have special needs. They HAVE to have primary caregivers, and at the end of the day, its their responsibility to monitor this individual, especially online, and keep them safe.

Do not listen to obvious trolls who will take any opportunity to drop their agenda, Chat Ave does care, alot of staff more than others, and will do anything in our power and within our scope. Just keep vigilant, report any other user who is stepping out of line with this user, and encourage them to report anything in their PM that gives pause.

First I'd like to start off and echo others, I believe this sensitive matter should only continue with @NorCal in PM. Both for respect to the individual as well as avoiding these wannabe trolls and their mindless babbling.

Onto the topic, it seems you know quite a bit about this person which could be the key to helping. This person more than likely has some sort of caretaker whether that be family or one provided. Along with that a doctor they would see, these are the ones who ahould be contacted on the matter.

As far as the ban suggestion, @NorCal is 100% right on the matter, there is also the chance of the situation getting worse if the individual hets upset and becomes more desperate. Predators are master manipulators and approach situations differently depending on what they encounter, meaning if this individual in question is now.more willing to see out a meet, the predator has to do less. Whether that be the individual making a new account or taking more dangerous steps in the real world.

This is a serious matter by the looks and sounds of it which I'm taking very serious.

As far as the "chatmaster"only caring and bring concerned about $ it's the truth even ex mods and ex admins said it themselves. Never seen them handle any serious matters or show that they care and take what others are concerned about serious, as they dont even reply to their own staff or anyone at all. Doesn't seem like a person who's concerned about anything going on on their site one bit.

They won't even be concerned about this either. I'm not one who sells false hope here. I can only agree and state my own truths.
 
Personally I would like to see this moved into dms and this post removed from public eyes. Here is my why: identifying the most volunerable among us brings awareness to those whose intentions may be the sort you are concerned about in the first place. Advertising the target if you will.

That, or remove the woman's name. It never should have even been mentioned. Her name is only useful to identify her for the ADMIN.

I actually worked developmental disabilities for many years. I do understand your concerns individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health concerns are more vulnerable. Without a guardian or even with a guardian it would be pretty hard to keep that person off the site. Also keep in mind this may be that individual's primary place for socialization.
