Should a nation(s) have the right to preserve another nation(s) history?

At the core of this debate is the preservation of cultural history and the role of archaeologists (and their nations) in safeguarding heritage

Preserving historical sites can help protect them from local destruction or looting. It can also provide valuable insights into the past that benefit all of humanity. Currently, this must be done with the consent and cooperation of the nation whose history is being preserved otherwise the work can be seen as an infringement on national sovereignty and a form of cultural imperialism.

The destruction of cultural heritage not only deprives future generations of valuable historical information but also diminishes the cultural identity and collective memory of a nation. Human civilization has come a long way but you might have heard of the somewhat recent news in the Bamiyan Valley, where the Taliban regime in Afghanistan deliberately destroyed the cultural heritage of Buddhists. Events like these that are an unrepairable loss to humanity.

Which begs the question:
Should our shared human heritage outweigh the local consent and collaboration of the country(ies) in which they lie?

Damn they really are just letting anyone use chat GPT, lol….

Your question is very convoluted sir, but I am going to say no.

You can’t just go into other countries, and start policing, though everyone seems to be doing it…

Nations shouldn’t have rights. Nor corporations.
The advent of the l.l.c has basically made the landscape the Wild West for corporations. There is no accountability. A human kills a person, they go to prison. A corporation kills many people, they fire the ceo and name a new one? It doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t have to. People wield power because they take it. It’s the rest of our (collectively as humanity) to keep those people in line.
I imagine that nations act the same way as corporations. Nations have been changing history to match rhetoric for as long as history has been written down.
So. I guess I could say,” no they shouldn’t be able to do that,” but, they’re still going to.
The internet is kind of a two way street though. For every piece of misinformation on the internet there is a person with a high def camera waiting to take a picture of the truth.
On the one hand. It offers the easiest way to spoon feed the average person misinformation (changing the story, re-writing history, changing small details), on the reverse side it offers people a chance to see the truth, even if it’s scary and awful to look at.
Hope that people will wake up. Maybe realize that socio/psychopaths aren’t the best people to lead the rest. Why are they always ceos ffs?

But these international laws are also what establish a nations sovereignty and protect them (at least to an extent) with international treaties.
Do you believe a nation should not interfere in protecting these archaeological human treasures from the destruction of the nation in which they lie? Regardless of how much they play a role in the history of humanity?

Borders dont inherently establish rights but what is the alternative a NWO? No borders? No borders would just result in primitive murdering since humans are naturally violent.

I do agree with you here. Usually the people exposing the truth are condemned and called conspiracy theorists, while the corporations write the narrative(cough* like chat-ave forums cough*)

Nations should have control what happens within their borders. However, free trade agreements, corporate predation and international law has eroded that fundamental right.

If measures are "entrusted to distant, third parties, any nation that believes in democracy will have made an insurmountable barrier for its own citizens to oppose measures they disagree with.

How does one "vote against" the World Economic Forum, the WHO etc
