Should chat room staff be bound to a term limit?

I don’t know who it was who brought it up, but someone on here once suggested that chat room staff (both admins and moderators) should be bound to a term limit. I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this? If I’m not mistaken, Mobile, College and Dating chat, have had the same admin for over at least 5 years. Doesn’t seem right in my opinion. Off with their proverbial heads?

I think keeping an admin in a room for longevity is better than swapping them out ever so often. New admins all have different styles and how they run a room. Sometimes can be good and sometimes bad. I guess I’m looking at this as ain’t broke dònt fix it kind of view.

Likewise underperforming admins need to be let go. Having no term means that shitty admins like argamaethos will continue to lead a shitty room full of inactive moderators.
 
The problem of inactive moderators is a valid point to bring up. Most of the time when you visit a room on chat-avenue (with the exception of Singles and General Chat) there aren’t any staff present. Then there’s the famous adage that says that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It’s like the position of administrator is seen as something sacrosanct (since they rarely get replaced) and admins behave accordingly by acting in an arbitrary fashion. Probably a bit hyperbolic, but I guess a lot of you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of very decent admins on this site, but if you’ve been an admin for 5 years, it’s time to give someone else a go at it, with all due respect…..

great idea,

that way i can get elected chancellor, & when the president dies i can assume the power of his office too by blaming jewish communist conspiracies, & sexual deviants...

combining them both, & becoming the fuhrer...

but which chat will i burn to the ground first to make it all happen???? 🤔
