…against the rules to register / steal another user’s former username, after having changed it to something else???

hello friends, 🙋🏼‍♀️

dolla here with a brand new poll, a poll about principle, a poll about usernames on a chatroom community…

lots of controversy about the topic, so im bringing it to the floor to see what everyone else thinks about it; if u change your username, should it be against the rules for someone else to register, & use, or does it become fair grounds for being used after the fact it was changed???

i think once u change your name, it becomes open for anyone else to use; but what do i know??? im just an angel 🤷🏼‍♀️

vote & discuss

peace,
god-bless 🕊️🕊️

disclaimer; any similarities in this thread to any user’s situation presently active on chatavenue is purely coincidental, & is not a thread directed specifically towards any specific user 🍜

I understand the name(s) in question were technically available by system. But that's not the question either,

that is literally the question,

should it be against the rules to claim a username that’s been given up by the original owner after changing it?

which in itself isnt against the rules, unless certain prerequisites are met first 🐒

all these circumstances are irrelevant, bc they’re circumstances that are based on assumption unless its blatantly obvious what the intentions are…

pretty sure an assumption isnt a good enough reason to ban someone, all the hunches ive had about ppl who i needed to present proof of their dirty rotten ways (some of which still arent banned despite all the proof ive provided 🤪); certainly if this logic applies there, it should apply to these situations too 🤷🏼‍♀️

Reading things into it just muddies the water

Luke really got banned again because of it. Jesus Christ? Or have i missed something
Could be a multitude of things with luka tbf.

And as for names, I just remember when I managed to convince like... 4 other people to set their username in the room to the same as mine (or as close as possible I should say), and that was a good day.

Ps, it is silly to ban for that, but im guessing that wasn't the sole reason they were banned. But if it was, just... pick a new one. I have a note page somewhere with a list of diff names (none of which are inflated with emojis)

I was told its ''1st come 1st serve'' unless they are coping a staff member name etc. Happened in video chat with a vip.
this is the way its always been, hence all the hotboy1's/ hotgirl1's
but with recent updates and rule changes
does that mean the one who was 1st. If they GAVE up the name, do they get to have any claim to it once it was given up? Seems as it if was implied either in the VIP rules/buying guide or through user chatter that names are still claimed and personal property even after being given up. this seems to be the real sticking point, and because of it actions were taken.

exactly. Just like if i changed my name. Than the name ''Ness(vc name) and Ness_eb'' is a free agent name to use.

I can go make a name NoFeels and it’s not breaking the rules in any shape or form but if a chatter gets butthurt over it they will make a big song and dance over it , this topic come up before and it’s not breaking the rules it’s just breaking fragile little minds. 🤫
