Thats my veiw. If a girl is pregnant than it was a. the couples stupidity b. She got drunk or c. she was sexually assalted/ raped now yes girls make mistakes BUT 70% of the time (AT LEAST) the guy is also to blame. They both made a mistake but come on as it is a single underage mother is going to go through hell trying to make something of her self so why i ask should we say yeah umm your pregnant so were not gonna give you an education so umm yeah your expelled have fun trying to make something of yourself now... because of a stupid mistake

Expulsion of expectant mothers

Expulsion of expectant mothers

I don't feel pregnant girls should be expelled from school. They made a mistake and it's normal for a female to get pregnant after fertility. They are punished enough by having to walk around high school pregnant, they can't hang with their friends during or after pregnancy like they use to and they have to suffer great responsibility at such a young age that older women in their 30's find to be a challenge. To expel a pregnant teen from school is wrong for many reasons:

1) At least they are still striving to make something of themselves. Don't contribute to the rate of high school drop-outs. Some probably give up after expulsion. Expulsion would be to punish a person for living.

2) I know that some feel pregnant teens walking around school may encourage others to have *** but in that case gays shouldn't be allowed to walk around school(no harm intended) because they are also considered outcast and may be considered influences.

3) To disallow a pregnant girl in school is to say women should not work and stay home while pregnant. Is there a difference?

lol. I can't believe this thread's still alive  Anyhow, all of your points have already been answered...so, umm...yeah...

I'm for it.

Though I wouldn't like to label it 'expulsion.' A more softer and understanding term perhaps? I think it's a wise move not for any other reason then the safety of the baby. There are a lot of irresponsible people in schools and accidents happen. Nothing prohibits her from furthering her education later on in life anyway. Many people do.

What are u , some kind of fascist or something?

I was going to support it but I am actually not in favour of it. A girl that gets knocked up still needs an education. She will need all the emotional support she should get, and how she got pregnant is really no-ones business.

What I am in favour of is not allowing her newborn child to be at school at any time, especially in class.

No

No

No, Girls should not be removed from school. I think it should be down to the girl themselves. If they feel they can cope with school and a pregnancy then they should be allowed to continue, the only reason they should be removed (and it shouldn't be through expulsion it should be through a medical advisor letter or the young girls choice herself) is if she becomes ill or is under the age of 13. I had two children before I was 16 (not through choice I was abused at home) and i still left school with As and A*s because I was given support and now I'm in university doing actually really well. No one should dictate the lives of anyone except the person themselves.

In cases of r.a.p.e., the victims can take morning after pills. So they won't be pregnant in any case. If they are, then it's probably a date r.a.p.e or something, which at the end of day, is still partially her fault.

Sexual assault is NOT her fault. How the F**K could you just flippantly say, "at the end of the day it's partially her fault"?

I'd like to know how many marbles are still intact in your head, because if you've never been through that horrific experience, you have no right to declare a damned thing about it.

It's comments like that which keep that "r*pe culture" alive and sadly well.

If you are female, especially THINK before just blurting out whatever mindless bullcrap you feel like. It is a terrible crime and your skewed view proves there still are pathetically sick people in the world.

Dude, if you think that everyone gets pregnant like that - because their drinks got spiked - then you're really delusional. Fact of the matter is...some of these girls dress slutty...they go to parties looking for trouble...and when they get pregnant, they moan and say they got raped, etc. What you said...is like this idealistic viewpoint on these pregnant girls. You think they're all innocent and that it's not their fault. But in most cases, it is their own doing. I mean, rape cases aren't even the main causes of teen-pregnancies. So why you're even bringing up the point I don't know. I mean, there will always be exceptions...and we're trying to focus on the majority here.

It happens this exact way more often than you think. And not just to teen girls, but adult women too. And even men have been sexually assaulted via being drugged. So close your mouth, open your ears and have less of a shallow, narrow mind.

How is that their fault. If she was kidnapped and **** where the hell would she go buy a morning after pill.

Probably not a good idea to expell a young lady from school who is preggo, she will need an education to get a job to support her chiild

To deprive someone of their education because she is in the family way is not a rule that should be enforced. It's a silly rule to even consider! Many years ago, woman who gave birth when they were young (18) was considered normal. Why is it any different today because most choose to wait until they are in their 20's or older?

There is the exception of a young couple being intimate and the seed sets root... Well, I guess he and she should have been proactive by planning other options to divert those seeds from entering.
