Spending time and not money.

Wanted to chit chat about the importance of spending time vs spending money. I’m of the mind that spending your time on something or giving your time to someone is much more valuable than giving money or spending it.
Might also be fun to talk about activities that allow you to spend time and not money, my favorite way to do that is to go to a skate park or go street riding on my bike. That’s why I build them. They’re public gathering places where you can just go hang out and be outdoors.

Well this is the slowest start to a thread ever. I’d say that spending time is more valuable than money because time IS more valuable in the first place. Time is the only thing you can’t get back after it’s spent, and arguably, the most finite thing in the world.

I’m with you. Time is worth more than anything and it’s one of the few things money can’t buy so its value far exceeds that of money.

I love the outdoors so I’d rather spend time waking/running/cycling somewhere pretty than spend money around town.

Another thought is that, with everyone these days seemingly so busy, spending money on people is easier than spending time with people which is sad and is probably something we’re all guilty of.

Gah. Isn’t it the truth though @Inkandtatts

Another thing that is worth mentioning is that the value of time is inversely proportional to the amount you have left. The older you get, and the less of it you have, the more valuable it becomes.
This kind of understanding would lead to people putting more value in spending time with their older relatives, because after all, no one truly knows what time they have left. It also would help people come to terms with what’s needed to accomplish goals for the same reason.

Agreed!!
One of my main love languages is “quality time”.
I value the time I get and can give to the people I love, tomorrow isn’t promised 💕
