There are cases where patients do have dementia, especially frontotemporal dementia, and a history of mental disorders and this has lead them to being misdiagnosed based on their past medical history. Their symptoms are blamed on their history of autism, bipolar disorder or depression, because stigmatization is deeply ingrained in our psyche and frontotemporal dementia has a lot of traits in common with mental conditions such as autism or depression. Stigmatization in the medical community still remains an underexposed problem. Someone who presents with memory issues should always be cognitively evaluated and should always be given an MRI-scan as well as be tested for metabolic conditions, blood work, etc. The full monty.

It's not a marsupial, it's a member of the oldest order of mammals. the monotremes. There are currently 4 species of echidna and the platypus remaining in that ancient order. All are egg laying mammals and do not have the marsupial pouch.
