Teenchat mod abuse (legitimately depressed bc of this)

again, we get it and we are sorry, from the bottom of our heart. you didnt deserve it and yes the users and we (the mods) did act a bit immatured. bullying and harassing people isn't correct, i know the way you are feeling right now, we'll try to rectify our mistakes and use this as an eye-opener. kakarot did act in an unprofessional manner, even tho i asked him to stop and i had gone afk so i didnt exactly catch up on what was happening but i returned to a mess and u calling people an idiot, but it's fine~ they were harassing you so you did it back, tit for tat, it's fine.
i know running away or ignoring the issue doesnt make it better, but just use the ignore button, it's for your own good~
we promise to act better and in a more professional way so tht we dont get to see another user getting harassed by anyone. im so sorry for what happened, we're gonna rectify our mistakes! take care
 
Just so you know~ we usually tell people to put each other on ignore cause you are on an online chat room, that’s expected to be there. If someone calls you something, we won’t auto mute someone, we have more serious things to deal with than little fights- now that you said “did I continue to argue, maybe” and “I can admit that I overreacted, maybe” literally you then are saying the mutes are justified.
 
As I wasn't present in the room at the time of this occurring, I have little to say in this regard. However, I will say this: the warnings the staff issue have to be taken seriously or else action will be taken if you persist. In addition to that, in the case that you are muted or kicked, it's a wise decision to not cause a scene about it afterwards. Causing havoc with all the users within the chat room will most likely end up in you being muted/kicked again. Understand that disturbing the atmosphere of the chat room afterwards wouldn't be fair to any of the ******** who were not involved in any way. Note down that I'm talking about these kinds of cases in general.

Furthermore, I'd like to point out that while you claim you had a depressive episode as a result of what occurred, I'd highly suggest to you that a chat room is never the right place to get proper help for the way you feel. The mods and admins are too busy to be therapists after every time a user gets muted and/or kicked; hence, I ask that you take initiative to seek proper help as you know the best about the way you feel. Don't resort to a chat room to heal yourself; however, please call the appropriate Suicide Hotline for you if these episodes are getting overwhelming.

I'll leave it at that, as the other mods and witnesses are more aware of it than myself.

Also the attitude of the current moderators in the room sucks, saying things like “why would you even bother about something online” which is ironic coming from someone who applied to be a moderator to keep the chat a respectable place for everyone involved? Also having screenshot of a moderator saying they’d mute me if they were upset, that suggests mod power abuse not that I have done anything wrong... Not only that I get harassed and called names by users and they let it slide, condone it, encourage it and even mute me for complaining about it... the imgur link below shows that, not everything because I wasn’t able to keep up, on top of being upset and fed up with everyone (that was supposed to help) there... Oreocakes and Kakarot are both TERRIBLE moderators and I’ve been around since 2018 to see some bad examples.. Where I am not tagged in the screenshots they were talking about/referring to me, and it got worse as time went on...

Based on the screenshots, I would agree with the Moderators about the warnings, HOWEVER, this is borderline abuse in way. I am no Mod nor am I a Administrator. I would agree just use the Ignore button often and stay positive.
 
I'd just like to add a point. What do I always say, what is my chat catchphrase. Report block em out or ignore them. Yes teen chat or any other chatroom for that matter doesn't tolerate bullying. Buttttt not every name call etc deserves a mute or a kick. If we muted/kicked for every single insult there would be very little next to nothing left in the room. Remember you r a teen and should somewhat be able to read a comment that isn't the most pleasant. But that's why us mods r there. Use us when we r in there. We want to help you all the best we can. But some is also down to you. You gotta be the bigger person and just click one button. If they continue to say stuff your not seeing it and we will take action. I like to think the teen chat staff is finally a good set
