Sam Smith is always on his periodi don't agree with sam smith being on tv period
It was moved to adult forum it appears- at your request https://forum.chat-avenue.com/threads/post-discuss-a-bible-verse-✝️.951493/#post-1377780 because users were posting 18+ content out of it.I’m just going to point out that, in the original bible verse thread:
1. It was for posting verses only
2. I reported off topic posts but they weren’t removed. That includes the posts by @TheDifference and @H.R. PufnStuf
3. I tried to keep everything within forum rules and reminded people that links weren’t allowed
4. When sexual content was mentioned I asked for the thread to be moved to adult forums but it wasn’t.
Edit: not including any of that ^^ to stir up any questions for UMs etc.
It’s still in Gen Forums. I just made a new one here and renamed the original when it wasn’t moved to avoid confusion https://forum.chat-avenue.com/threads/biblical-chat.951268/It was moved to adult forum it appears- at your request https://forum.chat-avenue.com/threads/post-discuss-a-bible-verse-✝️.951493/#post-1377780 because users were posting 18+ content out of it.
I did remove a post of TD in a thread of yours for "off topic" (but cant remember which thread.) primarily as it was your thread and objected to the post.
I didn’t think asking you a valid question about your thread would upset you enough for you to call them off topic and report them. But since it did, I do apologize for any discomfort my question caused you. ✌🏻2. I reported off topic posts but they weren’t removed. That includes the posts by @TheDifference and @H.R. PufnStuf
You didn't cause any discomfort. Hold up, I'm about to post a huge TLDRI didn’t think asking you a valid question about your thread would upset you enough for you to call them off topic and report them. But since it did, I do apologize for any discomfort my question caused you. ✌🏻
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Colossians 3:13
Thank you, but it was you that said the sexual content wasn't allowed in the area of forums designated as clean. Also, hold up - TLDR incoming. I particularly like the second paragraph of your post which, as well as being totally wrong, helps me demonstrate the TLDR I'm about to postAge rating don't and wont stop letting anyone read the most read book in history. The only people who would be able to put some sort of preface, would be publishers, Gideon's for example.
Taking passages out of the bibles old testament, many of which are simply history of goings on at the time- is an effort to and lets call it what it is, a collateral attack on the bible itself and by extension anyone who find the book to be sacred.
I just looked at several book publishers and you can buy any of Marquis de Sade books without any age restrictions. So it seems somewhat strange that any restriction from people reading about the Good Shepherd is needed.
I don't know about Canada but I can buy any book I like in the UK.Age rating don't and wont stop /letting anyone read the most read book in history. The only people who would be able to put some sort of preface, would be publishers, Gideon's for example.

Exactly - the point about whether it should be age rated was inspired by the posts in the original bible verse thread which made some people feel uncomfortable and I know that some books come with a warning about the contents being age appropriate which is what I thought having an "age rating" was, not a ban on its sale/gifting to someone that didn't fit any content warningI don't know about Canada but I can buy any book I like in the UK.
Sorry, I wanted to tag @Pandora to see this so they know I'm not a hater of Christians <3Inspiration behind the Post a Bible Verse Thread:
My local church is headed by a wonderful vicar in her 60s. She's taken a church that was about to be closed because the building was in a bad state of repair and it had barely any partitioners, and turned it into a thriving place in comparison to what it was. I'm involved in the church but I don't go to the services often - mainly just the big ones like Christmas and Easter but she also runs bible study groups and other things.
Anyway, she had this thing where she started reading from Ezekiel, Leviticus, and other "uncomfortable" sections of the bible. She also sent out verses by email and asked for comments. There were a lot of confused people that questioned why she was using those verses and the stories that go with them.
In the end, her message was that the Church itself and the bible have uncomfortable things in its past, that the Bible shouldn't be viewed as sweetness and light but that it contains harsh realities of life and that far from being "holier than thou", the Church can relate to real suffering and real life issues.
She encouraged everyone to post some of the verses on social media and see what the response was, but just to keep it to the verses, answer questions if they arose, but not to engage in any debate on it.
Her message was that those Christians (and those non-Christians who feel they were speaking up for Christians) that responded by making comments like some of those said on here "you're selectively quoting", "you're only quoting verses with sex in them", "you're being provocative", "you're using that to be hateful of religion", "you're using that to push an agenda", "you want to shut religion down", were the ones that were more likely to be burying their heads in the sand, enforcing the view that the Church is out of touch with reality, and those were the people that she was looking to reach out to.
She used that to also talk about past abuses within the church and to say that, by burying their heads in the sand or pretending that things like some of those verses that have been quoted should be viewed when quoted as attacking Christians, the Church and Christians were undermining the essential teachings of Jesus.
Sorry, this post is way longer than I thought it was going to be (and I could go on some more - I found it really interesting)

In all honesty I'd really hate to see an age appropriate rating on any book.Exactly - the point about whether it should be age rated was inspired by the posts in the original bible verse thread which made some people feel uncomfortable and I know that some books come with a warning about the contents being age appropriate which is what I thought having an "age rating" was, not a ban on its sale/gifting to someone that didn't fit any content warning
I'm not so sure. I've seen comments on book covers about the appropriateness of it but not an outright ban on sales to certain age groups. I remember there being an uproar about 50 Shades, with the film being rated 18 but the book obviously available to all.In all honesty I'd really hate to see an age appropriate rating on any book.
