The Doors OMG

"Out here in the perimeter there are no stars, out here we is stoned immaculate" "Jim Morrison"

Im Not No Way GIF

Love the Doors, who as most fans know, got their name from a book about mescaline by the weird and wonderful Aldous Huxley called The Doors of Perception. Huxley, in turn, took his book title from a line in a poem by William Blake "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is: infinite".
They originally called themselves The Doors of Perception but later shortened it.

Morrison was a poet before forming The Doors and many of his lyrics and live performance ramblings sound like poems. A facinating person/artist and a facinating band, which produced some of the most unique and incredible music of their generation.

“If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it's to deliver people from the limited ways in which they see and feel”

-Jim Morrison-

Excellent mini-bio 👍

lol thanks. As you probably already know there are several really good documentaries on the Doors and Jim. When You’re Strange and R-Evolution being two of them. 👌🏻
I actually only ever saw the film starring Val Kilmer and tbh I thought it was a travesty. Although I have watched the odd "The Making of <album name>" programme and I thought those were interesting. I'm not a huge Doors fan - I like a lot of their music though. An old mate of mine from yonks ago - now he went crackers over them lol

Most are very good but if I was forced to pick one I’d have to say LA Woman. It’s mostly live recordings and they were exploring more bluesy type music than other albums.

I agree. It's my favourite Doors album too
