The Speed Division details have been fleshed out, and we're almost ready to get this thing underway.
This, my friends, is the official registration thread for all would-be T2-style fighters in The Grand Tournament.
The Registration Form is as follows:
Username on HoRP:
Commonly used Chat name/name used for tournament:
Bracket entering:
Preferred style:
For the record, the Speed Division will be further broken down into two brackets;
The first bracket, or the Intermediate Bracket (not named for skill level), will contain fighters who only want their fights to take place in styles ranging from T2 - S15.
This means that fighters in this bracket can be challenged to:
- T2
- RT2
- H4
- RH4
- T2A
- RT2A
- S15.
The second bracket, called the Advanced Bracket,will utilize the styles of S20 - RMT2A.
This means that fighters may hold a contest in:
- S20
- MT2
- RMT2
- MT2A
- RMT2A.
If you need a list of the styles so that you can better acquaint yourself with them, it can be found here
The rules for the tournament are simple, and must be followed;
- Fighters must agree on the method of their combat. If they cannot agree, a judge, or other non-biased third party individual will pick a style in the middle of their two preferences - if possible - and they will fight in it. If there is no middle ground (say one person wants T2, and the other wants RT2, then the third-party will simply flip a coin; heads for one, tails for the other.)
- The word of the judges is final. If an approved judge of the GT-T2 division gives a ruling, it's final unless that judge amends the ruling before the fight is posted and validated. Once validated, the fight is 100% valid and the results cannot be changed.
- Be respectful. Obviously if someone starts insulting and trolling you, you can attempt to defend yourself. However, I ask that each of you make your best effort to be as respectful as possible to your opponent; and treat them with respect as long as they treat you with respect.
- All fights in the Grand Tournament 2012 - Speed Division will be contested under the official HoRP guidelines for Type-2 fighting. If you don't know what those are, they are available here
- Fighters may only sign up to a bracket, not individual styles themselves. Those within the intermediate bracket are subject to fighting any of the listed styles for that bracket, while those in the advanced bracket are subject to fight in any of those styles.
- This is a single elimination tournament. If you're out, you're out; period. Don't bitch about it, don't cry about. Better luck next time, champ.
- Each round will, ideally, last no more than a day or two after the bracket updates have been posted. I want this done and over with by the 30th of this month, so once registration ends by the end of this week, we're getting down and dirty with the fighting. Immediately after discovering who your opponent is, attempt to contact them and work out a good time to fight. Ideally within a small time frame from the moment the brackets are posted.
When every fight in a particular bracket is done, the new round will begin immediately with the updated brackets being posted.
Finally, the winner of the Grand Tournament 2012 speed division will be given the esteemed title of Best Fighter on the Internet, which they will hold until they either put it on the line in a fight against someone else, or they lose it at the Grand Tournament 2014 Speed Division (should this occur again).
Alright, people, get to registering your shіt and let's get this done.
