As a European all these American discussions are just fun. You lot make me laugh. The Democrats are far right and the Republican extreme right in the eyes of world politics, There is no such thing as American left. Protectionism is all you know. How to kill the planet in five seconds flat. How to demean women in three seconds. How to keep power among white men of middle age in 2 seconds. Sorry, of white man of very old age.
I am starting to think that the US would have been a lot better of if the Confedarates had won the Civil War and there would now be two countries. One in the South that would still have slaves, and be cordoned off the world by a big wall, and the one in the North that would be truly work with the world to make this world a better place. But alas, that's not going to happen.
I truly hope you can explain that to all your children, if they're still alive after all the shootings.

If by planned parenthood you mean forced sterilization then I concur. Actually Hitler struck down gun laws established in Germany after WW1. His new gun laws made it easier for German citizens to obtain gun and through the registration process his government knew who had guns and like you said Hitler and his regime did take guns away from those they identified as opponents. I am sure Adolf is rooting for Trump in Hell.

Actually the South considered freeing slaves prior to the Civil War but decided to wait until after the War, since they would need it for the War economy, so slavery would've ended regardless.

civil war was less about slavery, & more about the state's having the individual rights to govern autonomously from the federal government...
the civil war is precisely why texas can make abortions (wild random example) illegal, meanwhile california or new york they're still perfectly legal despite the supreme court ruling roe v. wade as unconstitutional...
if the civil war never happened, then the supreme court's ruling would be absolute, & they would be illegal nationwide rather than just a select number of states that chose within' their constitutional right to make abortions illegal... compared to the select number of them that decided to keep them legal l0l
never forget, abraham lincoln, the president credited with freeing the slaves was pro-slavery, he just knew it wasn't the will of the union or his republican constituents who unlike the southern states held the majority in congress... or did u think the civil war was a 50/50 split??? the federal government tried to supersede an individual state's right to govern autonomously & that is why the south seceded from the union & formed the confederacy

It is funny how those that support Trump will gaslight away until they have convinced themselves that Trump is the greatest president since Lincoln. The deep south is the problem. I live in a city where in the 1920s An angry white mob burned down 35 city blocks of what was called Black WallStreet. It was a section of town with a lot of successful black businesses. 38 people die. Trumpers in the deep south talk about ending critical race theory in schools. They say it is unfair and makes white people feel bad for the mistakes of their ancestors. Shaking my head because we put things in history books not to learn but hopefully not repeat horrific things from the past. The deep south are enacting the strictest abortion laws ever, taking away any and all gay rights. State rights should not supersede the rights of citizens. It is time for ONE Nation Under God.
