That may be true, but after Trumps terms and all the **** he's done, there aren't nearly as many Republicans as there were before. Many people who voted for Trump are seeing their mistake and switching over to voting democrats. You will see the difference when elections come. I am willing to bet that the Republicans lose by a huge margin, and the Republicans have lost so much credibility since Trump got in that they probably won't be back in office for awhile. You hear all about people who voted for trump previously realizing their mistakes and deciding to vote blue, but you never hear about people regretting voting blue and deciding to vote fir Trump. There is a clear reason as to why

I would argue that because the OP started the conversation about Trump, and we simply continued it (Maga and Trump are one and the same), then we didn't derail it. We simply went about an alternative route of the same subject. We can't talk about Trump or his speech that day without discussing maga or discussing other things related to Trump. It is all connected and intertwined.

No it's not because the thread was about a particular speech that didn't involve anything MAGA. Also they were quick to attack the creator which is in direct violation of the Debate Forum rules calling for respectful discourse.

I don’t think many people did. The only way I knew about it was I heard something on the radio that said a lot of US networks boycotted it. I then heard something after that it was a lot of nonsense about the 2020 election being rigged because the election system in the US is corrupt. But 2016 was definitely not rigged and 2024 definitely not rigged.

That may be wrong though. I’d rather eat dogshit mixed with raw rice than listen to an incoherent Trump speech.
 
I haven't listened to a trump speech since about 2018 or 2019. I don't follow American politics all that much anymore due ti me being Canadian. I do tune into some things though. I also see lots of speeches from both sides on tiktok or other socials

I don't have all the sources on the top of my head, but I have seen alot more people turning away from Trump and the democrats, and many more Blue wins than red wins lately. I think people are sick of trump and want someone better, and after all of this, the Republicans will have to earn back that trust for alot of their supporters. I believe the only way that the Republicans win next term is if they get a new candidate running. A really good one.

Historically the party holding the presidency usually does bad in midterms. I just hope your sources aren't the ones that gave Hillary a 93% chance to beat Trump. Lol. After that election I can't believe anyone still uses polls to support their position.

I mean if you do CNN just realeased a poll showing 80 to 90% of white, black, and Hispanic voters support voter ID so you must support voter ID too right?

I lean slightly to the democratically side politically, but even I can see Hilary Clinton did not have a 93% chance. Not even a 50%. The Republicans had the advantage there for sure.

I also agree about the party holding the presidency not winning the next election part. That's usually how it goes. However, I think this election is going to be more in favor of the opposing party than usual

Progressives have sparked the country. For decades the Republicans have been pumping money into ads and lies, deception to persuade people from turning away from change, that our country cant do what others do. Even Diaper-Don is in panic mode and said Mamdani ruined NY, which is the complete opposite, but like his supporters, hes a loser who has spent his life lying to himself to avoid reality. The man-child still thinks hes beloved by this country, as his health and mental health spiral.

If he dies, MAGA people are far too brave washed to accept JD Vance and like Mike Pence, they threw him under a bus. Well the New Jersey Governor has come out and admitted that over 6k people were illegally registered to vote (and that some of them voted in the last election) ... so that's one politician who's trying to keep her head from rolling.
 
Actually, out of those 6,600 illegally registered voters, only roughly 400 of them actually voted which hardly makes a difference in a federal election.

I would also like to clarify for the people who don't know about this. They didn't do it illegally per say, there was a system error that portrayed them as "registered" and gave them the ability to vote even though they shouldn't have been able to. This is the fault of the government, and not the voters themselves

1) Those who voted did so illegally. Even if we assume the "glitch" story is true, that doesn't suddenly give unauthorized people the right to cast a ballot. Those who voted broke the law. In other words, just because the ATM suddenly spit out an extra $10k, doesn't give you the right to collect it.

2) According to the Governor, this "glitch" problem had gone on for 2 years. Strange that it was allowed to continue for so long.

3) The "System error" explanation is one side of the story. There's also another side, which is from the software company itself (IDEMIA):

"The error, the company claimed, arose when the Motor Vehicles Commission sent noncitizens’ data to the state Division of Elections — which the company said should not have happened, but was the state’s own doing."

“All 6,600 individuals indicated ‘Yes’ to wanting to register to vote and ‘No’ to being a US Citizen,” Lisa Shoemaker, IDEMIA’s senior vice president of global corporate relations, said in a statement. “This information was recorded correctly and always available to the MVC via the database that MVC utilized to gather voter information and transmit to the Division of Elections. At no point was a noncitizen ever marked as a citizen in the database.”

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that the state should be the ones verifying voter eligibility, not some French software company that specializes in processing Drivers Licenses.

Do all so-called "Sanctuary States" leave it up to foreign companies to determine US voter eligibility? I sure as hell hope not.

Realistically, what's the end-game for trump? He would be in jail if he didn't win the last election, and will likely be in jail not long after this term. It only makes sense that he would try to bend the rules to run again, because it's one of the only chances he has to stay free.

Not to mention that there is no way he is going to give up all that power easily. He is a power hungry politician, and people like him can't stand being below anyone else. He wan't to be at the top because that is part of his narcissistic personality.

If I had to bet all my money on this, i would lean towards him trying to pull a sneaky move that keeps him in power. It may not be running a 3rd time particularly, but it will be something for sure.

Biden’s age was an issue for the right. Trump’s isn’t an issue now it suits them for age not to be an issue.

If a Democrat president had gone through the time and expense of rebranding a body of water, a Government department, and other things the right would have gone crazy about it. That’s sort of what Trump is though. - a brand that gets followed blindly by its supporters. Having said that, there’s no reasoning with either of the extremes because they’re so committed it’s unreal.

And when you say "its only the people that hate him" ,I would say thats more people than you think. Much of the world and a large part of the US, if not atleast half of the US. And I am not as much pro democrat as I am Anti-MAGA. I personally don't think Kampala was the best choice for a democratic candidate, but she was still better than Donald Trump because she had the right morals, even if she didn't have the right ideas. I would take an incompetent president with good intentions over an intelligent president with bad intentions anyway (Not saying trump is intelligent btw)

Couldn't have said it better myself. I live in Canada and I have yet to see a MAGA supporter in person. Everyone I talk to supports the non-MAGA Republicans or the democrats. The people online claiming to be from Canada and wanting trump to make Canada the 51st state or supporting Trump are far and few. They only seem like alot because they are louder.

Also almost everyone I have seen post or have talked to from other countries has said the same. They treat Trump like a joke and never take him serious. All of the USA's allies will probably wait for a more reasonable POTUS before they even think about associating with the US deeply again

Who cares? She lost. Debating it makes no difference - it’s not like the election can be overturned (unlike what the right thought in 2020).

I don’t think anybody really knew what Trump’s plan was either - largely because he’s reactive to whatever the perceived popular things are. That’s why he’s so good; he plays people and they fall for it every time. Every. Single. Time.

Wrong. We all knew Trump's plan and hers. Trump's was better.

Hers was raise taxes on everyone and make rent prices higher by increasing demand on the already short supplied housing market with 25k loans. The homes would have been relisted 25k higher. Property taxes for everyone would have gone. Then rent would have gone up... again. Her plan was going to lose parents 1k in the child credit unless they have a newborn. Her business plan was going to raise taxes on businesses older than a year old. Her plan was going to make things harder on everyone except the wealthy, but hey at least you feel good and virtuous voting for her.

Trump's was tariffs, closing the border, getting rid of illegal immigrants, no more wars, and no taxes on overtime, tips, or social security. This last one Kamala stole for her campaign too it was so good. 🤔

Trump failed at no wars completely. The tariffs are facing legal issues which aren't his fault. He's still fighting for them. Also personally my medicine dropped 40% in cost for me this last month.

Be willfully ignorant if you want. I don't care.

Trust me bud. Our elections affect the entire planet. And that's not because of Trump. That's because of the foreign policy before him and the willingness of most of the world to roll over for us. That's the failure of your leadership. 😉
 
Trumps tariffs only hurt Americans, his "deported illegal immigrants" promise has turned into deporting and hurting legal immigrants, many if which actually help the US in a huge way economically, and as for the wars thing, I think it's obvious he had no intention of staying out if wars. He has gotten into many "conflicts" and wars since his first presidency and almost all of them were unnecessarry

You really gotta stop talking for everyone else. Just because you don't care about any other elections, doesnt mean you can speak for the other 350 million Americans. Many of them actually keep an eye on elections in places like Canada, Mexico, the UK, france, and other allied countries. The fact that you only care about the US and think everyone else does too shows your ignorance. You are blindly following Trump and his narrative and it appears you have been brainwashed completely. You believe whatever they tell you to believe.

And the "rolling over for us" part isn't nearly as true as you think as shown recently. Noone is scared of the US anymore and many countries don't want anything to do with them. Any credibility or heavy influence they may have had in the past has been diminished due to Trump and his presidency. Trump is the sole reason that many countries are moving away from the United States and moving towards countries like China

Okay let's run some logic. Tell me where mine is wrong. Tariff goods increase in price. All American made goods made with imported components go up in price as well. <<< in the short term a downside right?

Except this! Long term results.

Imported components become worth making domestically because of the higher cost. Job numbers increase. The more jobs that need filling means employers have to hire people in America. Stopping illegal immigration and deporting illegal immigrants shrinks workforce. More jobs and smaller work force means employers have to compete for employees. They offer higher pay and benefits to attract employees.

A period of time happens where people buy less increasing supply which lowers prices. Everything stabilizes again.

Tell me where the error in my logic is for that.

Also how is it hurting legal immigrants? I'm sure there's a few. Nothing is perfect, but is there widespread harm being done to legal immigrants? We're two years in and I'm still going to many places where there's a lot of people who don't speak a word of English and are completely happy. Heck I deliver to a family of Hispanic immigrants that are building a pool right now in front of their huge house. They seem to be alright.

Maybe read the internet less and get out into the real world more. You'll see it's not on fire as much as the internet says. Lol.
