I’ve found out I got Diabetic neuropathy I’m on gabapentin day 2 100mg then I up the dose but when will they fully kick in ??????⭐️🌙🌙🫧🫧🫧👸🏻👸🏻⭐️🌙🫧

Or if you don’t want nuttin don’t start nuttin and NO inks im not talking about the male hmmm what can I say that’s 13* it’s not tickling the pickle 🥒

So what is gabapentin’s main effects? I only know it’s neuro related but what have they said. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Do take the medicine it won’t happen right away your body will need to adjust so it will take a few days to kick in so to speak.

It’s only been 3 days on a low dose I up it in one week gabapentin is for epilepsy and nerve pain it blocks thr pain signals in the brain 🧠 so hopefully I can walk better soon on a higher dose

woah there.... they gave you a medication that interacts heavily with your type 2 and didnt tell you the adverse reactions?! ive seen some shady govt dr'ing but even that would get a govt dr canned.

it can potentially increase your blood glucose levels (high sugar levels)

you must be very well managed and never need increase if they put you on gab. they prob shoulda started you on patches (lidocaine -topical) 1st

Sorry to hear, hope it works out I guess

But why announce it on a public forum?

You think any of these people here will weigh up your problems and give you genuine consideration? They may comment but that doesn't mean they truly care.

Good luck to ya luv

no. just the oldest grandchild of a type 2 diabetic. who took on slack where the 7 children and their spouses couldnt keep them out an already overloaded system. gab was on his no list and it had a reason and i just listed it.

(theyve both been gone 15 years. her Feb complications of a fall when her nursing staff wasnt holding her belt, after a stay from what was supposed to be a short sickness, him (type 2 which started as type 1 which was discovered from nephropathy of the feet 30ish years before his passing) in Sept same year from lymph node cancer that started as pancreatic cancer that he previously conquered.) they are still very muchly missed.

-not a dig, but if youd stop self deleting, youd be able to read this as ive covered this before. sometimes in depth. sometimes not.

even more reason to stay away from gab. it means your panc isnt regulating and you have to do it for it. gab is only for those thats panc is highly in good regulation @-Luka READ THIS.

if i were you, i would bring this fact up to your dr. there are other options to help, and less life threatening.

It’s for Diabetic neuropathy I know you mean it in good nature and thanks for the warning ⚠️ but it seems to be working day 3 so I’m not complaining

From the NHS site:

Who may not be able to take gabapentin

Gabapentin is not suitable for some people.

To make sure it's safe for you, tell your doctor if you:

  • have ever had an allergic reaction to gabapentin or any other medicine
  • have ever misused or been addicted to a medicine
  • are trying to get pregnant or are already pregnant
  • are on a controlled sodium or potassium diet, or your kidneys do not work well (gabapentin liquid contains sodium and potassium, so speak to your doctor before taking it)
It doesn't interact with insulin apparently so as long as your doctors are well aware of your medical history and kidney issues, it'll be fair to assume they've taken that into account before prescribing. There's no harm in asking the prescriber about the issues with your kidneys and the use of gabapentin though and it's always wise to ask if you have concerns.

The NHS site also says that gabapentin can take a few weeks to work.
