Video Game Discussion Thread

Well, I thoroughly enjoy video games. Been playing since Ping Pong. Classic, black and white. Played almost every consule. I have never considered to get the Playstation Network. I know it's free. But I know no-one that plays it. Alot of my friends own the 360. Fair enough. It might be my 3rd xbox consule, because they won't stop breaking. But I am hoping that I will be third time lucky.
Funny how alot of people banter about which consule is the best. Ok, ok. So the PS3 has better graphics. But I honestly feel that the 360 has the best games. That is honestly, my opinion. I know alot will or might disagree. Oh, well. Anyway, moving on!
The games I am hoping to buy this year are Dead Island, Deus Ex:Human Revolution, Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed:Revelations, Resident Evil:Operation Raccoon City, The Cursed Crusade, WWE '12 (Yes, I am a fan), Saints Row: The Third, I Am Alive, Metal Gear Rising, etc, etc. Quite a few of those have been delayed. But that is just the way of it. Still, some great games coming out this year. I know I forgot about Modern Warfare 3 and Gears Of War 3...But I am just not a fan, sorry. :dontknow:

I think you caught my join date in 2004, and not the thread's actual creation date on 06-08-2011 on page 1.

I think you have a great selection, but I'm hoping that "etc etc" part includes Skyrim and Bioshock:Infinity as well. Maybe throw RAGE into the mix?

I didn't think I Am Alive would still be in dev. I saw that trailer and was really interested in the premise of the game several months back.

As for consoles, buy a 360 is you like your consoles breaking, a PS3 if you like your networks breaking, and a Wii if you like to spend months punching out friend codes. Kidding aside, they all have their own niche and appeal to different people.

Ha, Nice one. Well, I do not think I will even get the Playstation online. I am quite happy sticking to my Xbox. Besides, I have my friends on there. I couldn't possibly ditch them to go make new friends on the PS3. How rude,. Yes, I completely missed out on Elder Scrolls. That is a definite buy for me. I would love to see more footage of it though.

Experience 21x XP during Gears 2's 4th of July weekend - If you haven't max ranked yet, now's the perfect time.

We have a sneaking suspicion that Epic Games' Joe Graf may actually be a real-life hobbit in disguise, because he's giving everyone else presents on his birthday. In celebration of his 42 years of being alive (as well as that whole American freedom thing), Epic Games has turned Gears of War 2's XP knob all the way up to 21-times-normal from now until 9 A.M. EDT on July 5th.

The game has also been tweaked to provide 4-times the normal amount of ammunition for the Hammer of Dawn, as well as the mortar, so those without fireworks can have almost as much fun blowing things up in their living rooms over the holiday weekend. Virtual things, we mean ... let's not nuke the coffee table, alright?

Just finished playing through Dead Space: Extraction, the bonus content I recieved with Dead Space 2 from Lovefilm. An amazing bonus addition! Taking you back to before Isaac arrives to begin Dead Space 1, everything sets itself out nicely, with nice action enough to make you sit up and concentrate while also desperate to grab ammo as you only have limited amount of time before the screen (you have no control over the screen, you only control your crosshairs in which to shoot things 😛 ) moves away out of sight of the ammo. Coincides brilliantly with the RPG aspect of Dead Space 1.

I'm amazed, and I haven't even started Dead Space 2. Good times ahead.

Picked up FF7 for the PC for free... So now I can play it anytime I want without having to worry about saving! WIN!

Just started a Hardcore playthrough of Dead Space 2, 3 saves, no checkpoints, hardly any health or ammo.

Hold me. 🙁

The only way to truly enjoy Dead Space is by going hardcore. :thumb:

Good luck, you'll need it. :sulkoff:
I think I'm already screwed, had a massive worry that if I died before I reached chapter 5/6 i'd be back to the very start of the game... so saved at chapter 2! Now I'm down to two saves.

Think I'm going to save at chapter 7 and chapter 12/13. It's going to be tough... so if I see anyone complaining about how hard Dead Space 2 is, on like, survivalist mode, I'mma slap the hell outta them.

The Mass Effect series has to be my all-time favourite games, hands down.

The way in which the characters were designed, the personal connection you made with each individual team-member actually made you care whether they died or not. Mass Effect 2 is arguably better than the original, but let me tell you it's worth importing a Mass Effect 1 playthrough to Mass Effect 2, it makes the game so much more entertaining. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, you might get a few more side-missions than you would have? I'm pretty sure you do.

I love the fighting system for ME 1&2, it's just pretty damn original in my books, easy to use, easy to become familiar with, controls that aren't awkward...

Just an amazing series. My favourite games, ever.

On a side note, a thought occured to me, I've seen you could do such things as blogs on this forum, I've never tried it before  so what I was thinking is I could post a list of the xbox 360/ps3 games I have, people could choose what video-game out of the list and I could review it as a blog on here?

Just an idea that might be interesting or not, I'll see what other people think.

Hey. Did you guys know, that a new Super Smash Bros. is coming on some year for this new Wii called Wii U?

Great, now we have an I-phone and soon a Wii U. Haha.

Future (Wikipedia, SSB. series)

"
At E3 2011, it was confirmed that Super Smash Bros. will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U, with the two versions being cross-compatible with each other in some way.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._(series)#cite_note-11https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._(series)#cite_note-12
Iwata also stated that Masahiro Sakurai is still in the final stages of development for Kid I****s: Uprising, and has therefore not yet begun production on the next two Super Smash Bros. titleshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._(series)#cite_note-13. Sakurai stated that the announcement was made public in order to attract developers needed for the game."

Meh. I hope they'd make it to the Wii, too. I'm not going to buy a new console, because Nintendo's making only ONE new game for it. Of course they're making more games for it, too...

Hmm, this Wii U is going to have 1080-HD graphics. Cool! It's coming in 2012.

Hmh...

I haven't played BF1 or 2 so I don't know if I'll be buying BF3. Since MW3 is coming out, I'm sure it'll be the only fps I'll be playing for at least 6 months after it comes out.

Yeah, I finished Homefront in about 4 hours when I played it last. The bridge scene at the end was pretty fun. The online TDM is not as fun as Black Ops but I play it from time to time when I get bored with Blkops.
