VIP moving to subscription?

The new Photos feature includes language that seems to indicate that VIP is becoming a subscription, saying that the feature is disabled because VIP membership lapsed and will be turned on again on "renewal".

Naturally this doesn't make sense for something that's advertised as a lifetime purchase. Either the feature was added in prematurely without being checked or the one-time purchase is sunsetting

Ok thanks. I think this may just be a case of misunderstanding the wording. I haven’t heard anything about VIP becoming subscription based. I think what the wording means by renew is to purchase again.

The photo option is for VIP users. If you don't have an active VIP account, Then you would need to become a VIP again.
