VIP's blocking Guest accounts

Hi there,

I was wondering if there was a possible way for you to be able to add a new feature for VIP's. Blocking Guest accounts or Putting all Guest accounts on ignore. I am from boys chat and the Guest accounts are getting bad in there from the things they ask to the spamming the room and offering Child P@#N. I am just so sick and tired of seeing it all. I do put the guest accounts on ignore but it is like cutting the head off a hydra.

100% all they do is spam the site banned all guest

I chat as a guest but been here longer than you. I say do away with the VIPs. That is just an excuse to do the things you are accusing guests of doing.

Hello, I’m tagging the room admin for their awareness but this change would need to be done by the site owners.

Just set your privacy settings - private chat to member only. That's way you will not receive message from guest account. It works for me in Adult and sex chat.

This doesn't address the issue of seeing guests spamming the main room like OP mentioned.

I think weighing the arguments, one is much easier to see and more apparent that it's a problem. Not to mention, guests might give traffic, but VIPs *actually* support the site financially. It's simply dismissive to not admit that guests spamming main rooms is one of the biggest problems in chat. Having the option to hide all guests in the main room is a good idea.

VIPs span the rooms, they also send out child corn images and we are told by admins only chatmaster can ban them. VIPS get away with too much. VIPS are as much as a problem as guests. My account is registered and that is the only requirement I care for.

These are separate issues off-topic from guests, but I'll address them because it further explains why having an option to hide guests in the main room is a good idea.

If VIPs break rules, no matter the severity, they can be actioned and retain a history (including being banned). If a VIP isn't banned for bannable offenses, that's a separate issue that the administrators and Chatmaster need to handle and you should probably bring those things to their attention if you have proof. Regardless, all the things you're mentioning are *possible* to be done by anyone in chat (Guests, VIPs, and everyone else). The difference is that Guests are wiped more quickly from the site. Rule-breaking Guests can continually return and continue the same behavior until something changes, and being able to hide them is a good idea until a fix is implemented to prevent them from returning.

To your point, yes, I agree that VIPs can break rules. Do you agree that Guests can break rules *and* are unable to be effectively actioned?

If you agree, then it's only going to make things better to be able to hide Guests in the main rooms and OP's suggestion is good.

Random side note, I was confused when you mentioned above that you chat as a Guest and then mention, "My account is registered..." because... I don't understand why someone would have a User account and then also chat as a Guest.

My forums account is registered, sorry was not clear about that. I don't chat very often so there is no real reason to do the room thing.

You can turn off in private. Messages from guests in settings helps.
 
i dunno if anyone's mentioned this...but there appears to be a chrome and firefox extension that does this specifically...i'd probably be weary of it until i can review what the code does specifically...but it's an option

*edit* yeah, looks like it just removes entries made by user group 0...which is guest...but from chat...i don't don't if they would eliminate guest DMs

With it tonight and changing the privacy options to member only PMs they’d have what they’re looking for right?
 
Is that not in some way hacking and against the rules in rooms? Why not just have the site have the option instead since it's a good option? Regardless of whether it's likely that the site makes the changes, isn't it still a good idea for the site to make the change instead of having someone promote external ways around the way the site works?

OP brought up a good idea and I think the site should implement it.
