I usually wear clothes handed to me by male relatives, and to be honest I'm kind of sick of it. I wish I could wear my own clothing in my own size. There's no point in owning a $500 jacket or $200 shirt if it doesn't fit. 🙁

So the reason I'm creating this thread is... Do you have any comments on this or advice?

I could look into getting them altered or something, but it's not the same. I want to wear my own clothes. When will I be able to throw away all my old clothes and buy new ones in my size?

I'll be damned the day I'm 52 inches wide around the shoulders and have 36 inch sleeves like my Dad or my uncle. That's HUGE. I can't ever imagine being that big. If it matters, I think I have a 44 inch shoulder girth and 32 inch sleeves. :/

You can't buy clothes to fit you?

Yes, that's the problem. I'm not allowed to buy my own clothes, so 90% of my wardrobe consists of my brother's, Dad's, and uncles's clothes. They're all pretty much identical in size clothingwise (5' 11" to 6' 2" and 175 to 215 pounds), so all their clothes are too big for me. 🙁

I wish I could buy my own clothes. If it were up to me, I'd have all my clothes custom-made.

I guess wearing oversized clothes is better than wearing no clothes at all :dontknow: You will be able to buy your own clothes when you earn your Own money ? Maybe you could get a Job or part time Job i your at school or whatever.

Have it tailored? If you haven't got a choice, then you've got no room to be picky, do you? At least you have clothing on your back, make the most out of it. It can look perfectly fine if it's tailored correctly, don't know what the fuss is about. @___@

George I hear ya... pants are worse for me, AU Size 82's are too tight around the waist and fly pops open a lot, while size 87's I need a belt to wear. No available sizes in between. Thats what happens when clothing is now made in China and Bangladesh: shops will assume that these sizes will be a snug fit.

Btw, down here the Tailor followed the steam-train, the blacksmith, and customer service... disappeared or is on the endangered list 🙄

That's what I'm hoping to do. 🙂

Sorry. I just like to complain about things.

Any advice on finding a good tailor btw? Many of them do a terrible job at making alterations. :/

Here's an idea: either gain five pounds so you have a 34 inch waist and can wear the larger size pants, or lose five pounds so you have a 32 inch waist and can wear the smaller size pants. :lmao:

ya have nicely moulded body parts.. i am sure you look good in traditional clothing style.
[ am i kinky there ?! ]

Comfort

Comfort

Personally, I think clothes are psychologically the most physically personal thing you could have, some people like to show their body, others like to hide their body, that is why when you want to go pick clothes, always remember, wear what ever makes YOU comfortable, and not what people will think when you wear it, because quite frankly it doesn't matter, as long as you are comfortable.

Well, as the girl above said , learn to sew. You could totally cut up the old cloths and make them into cute little starpless tops and dresses. You could even make shorts from jeans. Try and save some money and buy little bedazzles to bling up the clothes. You can buy a bedazzler for like $5 dollars and they come with sparkles.
