What is a good horror film for a 15 yr old?

I have been wanting to watch a horror movie for awhile. Been trying to convince my mom. Any good ones someone can suggest by chance? I've been told no to the Green mile bc it's messed up. I have seen Madea boo movie's more funny then horror lol. Anyway if you have suggestion it's very much appreciated

Tough question because each young persons maturity level varies. I saw some scary movies when I was younger that I definitely shouldn’t have seen lol.

But here’s a few that are scary but not *too* scary:
The Ring (original one)
The Village
A Quiet Place
The Birds (very old but a classic)

didn't traumatise me when I was 13, but then again I find most horrors mildly amusing.

The Green Mile isn’t a horror nor messed up. I think you’d enjoy that film.

Insidious if you like jump scares or just paranormal fear.

i'm curious what about the green mile would be messed up or considered horror as well. sure it's based on a stephen king story but probably one of his least messed up or horrorish stories

Unless messed up meant as in the wrong person convicted? I initially thought messed up as in gore/brutal horror like hostel.

Only thing I can think of that was a bit ‘brutal’ was the corrupt Percy and Mr Delacroix

I started reading Stephen King when I was 12. I turned up at School with 'The Shining' as my preferred read, while all others were reading 'Age appropriate' books.
