Watched ep4 of Big Little Lies - gonna smash out the last 3 eps after dinner. Feel like if I don't do it now, I never will....

Agreed about the ending, but yea loved it still.

I watched The Shape of Water another movie that got golden globe noms. It was good, wasnt feeling it as much as I did with Ebbing, but definitely worth a look.
 
Atomic Blonde - I know I'm a little late to the game - which is nothing new - but loved it! Charlize Theron is sexy as hell and the movie had a kick ass soundtrack to boot...
 
Saw Black Panther at the movies with a mate this afternoon. Really good for a stand alone Marvel Movie. We got to the see the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War which I've already seen, but didn't stop me from getting excited! Can't wait for April 24th!!
 
A Beautiful Mind. Rather appropriate on the eve the Oscars. One of my all time favs! Easily Ron Howard's best film - he won Best Director for this in 2002. Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly are absolutely amazing (Crowe won Best Actor & Connelly Best Supporting Actress in the same year), James Horner won Best Original Music Score for this also (he also won the same award for Titanic). The score was absolutely brilliant in surround sound!!

Spooky fact: John & Alicia Nash (who the movie is based on) died in a car accident in 2015. James Horner died in a plane crash in the same year!

She is having the day off to watch the Red Carpet and then the Show.

With 4 friends, my Mum, her Mum and my Nan.

I am on Katren Patrol (though 'if she is good, we might cuddle her'), ha.

I am also expected to keep the horde fed and watered.

I told my Nan I would do it nude and with a ribbon tied to my peen.

'I've seen it. Won't need much of a ribbon, if I remember right.'

I will try to watch the climax - Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Film...

We will have a Sweep - pick the four winners, $20 in each, winner gets the lot.

The only films I've seen on the Best Film list are 'Darkest Hour' and 'Dunkirk'. Both were good but hardly Best Picture material....

I've seen Three Billboards and Get Out. I'll check the TV guide. Might have it on in the b/g while I'm working at my desk. Not a big day tomorrow thank god!
 
2pm here. American Evening stuff (sport and live shows) are perfect for NZ - Super Bowl usually kicks off at about 12.30pm Mondays...

It's a good movie T2G .. The shape of water also very enjoyable. You really need to think outside your reality box on that.
Lady Bird , another cracking Movie and i'm up for watching Their finest Hour when we get some down time over the weekend 🙂

We saw 'The Finest Hour', Kim, and liked it.

Seems to be a glut of Second World War movies about lately - The King's Speech, Dunkirk, Churchill and now Finest Hour.

The Kids Are All Right (2010) - found this in an article I read

Runaway Jury - My favourite John Grisham novel to be converted to the big screen, though the book was much better. With the theme about gun control (the book centres on the Tobacco industry), the relevance of this movie 15 years after it was made is more than ironic!
 
The Greatest Showman - I cannot articulate how much I love this musical/movie and the soundtrack..EVERY song was great!!! I will definitely be watching this again..and again..and again... Should have won the academy award for best song (This Is Me) too!

Getting ready to watch Season 2 of Jessica Jones. I have other Marvel series in queue to watch after that. I've seen Spideman but not the other 3. Will have to look for them.
 
I got to the end of Rocky 3 last night. I'm on track for mid-late afternoon finish today, so will resume with Rocky IV, then Rocky V & VI, then Creed. Creed 2 comes out late November...oooo, can't forget Homeland tonight though...
 
Annihilation. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. I was told the ending was trippy but i just didn't get it. I'm not saying don't watch the movie, because overall it was good and had me on the edge of my seat in suspense...
 
Insidious: The Last Key - Blum House have nailed it again. Absolutely love what they're doing for the Horror genre! Jason Blum is also involved in the latest Halloween installment which comes out in mid October. Should be a beauty!

The Post. Meryl Streep & Tom Hanks are great! This is a really good movie. I can see why it was nominated for Best Picture at this years Academy Awards. The footage of the old school printing presses was priceless!
 
Was at a friends house today and apart from going shopping, we also watched Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2 - both relevant to the Avengers: Infinity War which we're seeing next Wednesday. Memories refreshed regarding Thanos, Nebula & The Infinity Stones...so pumped for next Wednesday!!

Howard the Duck (1986). I remember this movie from my childhood, however, he actually has 2 cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2. Managed to find it on Kodi. Very 80's but it is a George Lucas film, and the effects are pretty good for it's time. Lea Thompson (Marty's mum from Back to the Future) was a hottie in her prime. Also has a very young Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption) and Principal Rooney from Ferris Buellers Day Off. I had fun watching it again after all these years!
 
I find myself a bit traumatised by what happened in the latest Avengers movie. Don't get me wrong, I loved it and it's only a movie right? But when you're so invested emotionally with the characters and shìt happens, naturally you feel affected. The good news (and bad news), is I (and every other fan out there) have/has to wait another 12 months to get some closure on all of this. Ugh!

I'm not crazy am I??

NO spoilers! lol - You know there are 18 Marvel movies before the latest Avengers. I plan to watch them all again, before next years Avengers!
 
Man on the Moon was absolutely brilliant! Jim Carrey is amazing in this. The movie was even more fascinating having watched the behind the seens (omg did I actually just type seens instead of scenes ha ha) documentary yesterday!

12 Strong & Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). Both movies were great, the latter was more up my alley - Kate Winslet & Jim Carrey are amazing in this!
 
Finding Neverland (2004). Great for one's inner child. I'm working through a Kate Winslet DVD I got for Christmas. Johnny Depp is brilliant in this! I cried towards the end. I mention this, not to prove that I'm some sort of sensitive guy, but because crying during a movie can be the ultimate release of your emotions me thinks. This was a Miramax production, which means Harvey Weinstein was an executive producer on this. That's the only negative side to this movie. Otherwise it's absolutely brilliant. Not in the greatest of moods today, so it was nice to watch something that warms the heart...

The Truman Show (1998). The last of the Jim Carrey's movies I want to see. His comic genius isn't in question (which is why I'm not watching movies like Ace Ventura, The Mask or Bruce Almighty). I'm more appreciative of his dramatic work, hence the movies I've seen over the last few days. I still have two Kate Winslet movies to watch: Holy Smoke & Little Children.
