What shall we do? "Reports"

I will try this again, I think we all want a safer site for Users, with that in mind, I would like to recommend the following:

Increase the number of "Reports"
This can be limited to Users with a proven history of responsible reporting.
I believe Mods know the Users that "fit the bill"
It is possible to screen effective Users.
The "report" function should be modified to indicate if a post has already been "Reported"
The options window that pops up should go straight to the options available, eliminate the "Cancel" option.
I am not sure if the reporting options by type are listed in the order of frequency used, but it should be, with the most frequent being default.

I have a few other ideas as well, but lets throw this against the wall and see if it sticks. : )

I think it would be cool if they could modify it to let us know it’s been reported. Mods come back to loads of reports and many are of the same person getting reported by multiple ppl. This will save them some work as well

I do agree that knowing whether or not a message was reported would help ******** conserve their flags. That being said, it wouldn't actually save mods any work. Here's an example of why: Let's say a chatter posts a message in main with a racial slur. Three people flag that message and three reports generate on the mod side accordingly. A mod logs in, reads the first report, deletes the message with the racial slur, and mutes the chatter. Because the message is now deleted, there is physically no message for the other two ********' flags to be attached to, so those reports disappear without the mod ever having to open them.

I am not sure if the reporting options by type are listed in the order of frequency used, but it should be, with the most frequent being default.
Try not to overthink the selections for the reporting options. Mods focus mostly on the content being reported and the offending chatter. Not every issue is going to fit neatly into three small offense categories, so we sort of skim past the reason and go straight to the problem.

Thank You LostCause, I think part of the issue with repeat reports, is that it eats up the meager supplies we are meted out. In Gay Chat it is three per hour.

and often Mods in gaychat enter the room to have to clear 100-150 reports or more and often multiple times it is the same profile or message being reported, so yes have a feature to inform that a message/profile has been reported would be helpful for everyone, but even that would have limitations like if the message was repeated/flooded/spammed it wouldn't work unless all messages were marked as reported as an example.

I think the maximum is 3 reports per chatter until your reports are cleared by a mod or admin.

The other alternative would be to take screen shots of the offending message (Which is what Mods also do to report users to Admin for further action) and wait until a mod enters the room and PM them, or PM them here in the forums. I would be happy to take any PMs here or in the chatroom for any offenders in Gay Chat.

I wouldn't start a public thread because the nature of some of the reports are sensitive and there are members as young as 13 in the forums that can read the posts.

Lol, somebody gonna have to show me how to do a screenshot! I do okay with Teaching myself, but at my age, I am ready to have somebody "show me how" ( a man learns from His mistakes, a wise man Learns from somebody else's mistake!)

Thanks Baby Universal!

Paper clip icon in the room is how you send pics. Screenshotting depends on your phone. Or if you use PC, check out light shot

As Dylan said, screenshotting depends on your device and your operating system. I can only help if you use a desktop with Linux, but a quick ****** will tell you how to screenshot with your device and operating system.

Tho taking screenshot wud not help any of us none vips as far as I am aware a non vip user cud not pass a ss over to a mod

I'm mostly use mobile chat if ur not vip you cannot post

The only thing I would say or add about multiple reports on a post is that it does give the Mods and idea as to the kind of posts that most ******** find offensive. i.e. the more times its flagged the more people find it offensive or the more offensive that post is and deserves greater attention or a longer mute/kick.
