What to do if the image is to large?

If any image is to large then you should crop it and if that doesn’t work, trying using an image resize tool to keep the full image.

Cropping won't work if a file is to large. Needs to be compressed ( resized. It took me ages to work out lol

You can also screenshot the pic, will also work most of the time but might be in lower quality.

I work in tech, this is the only acceptable answer

The real answer tho, don't take the pic with the default camera app on any phone that is newer than 2019 model it will be uncompressed (very large in size). Workaround for mobile is take a pic on Snapchat or any social media and download it to your phone, they automatically compress the photo for you so you don't have to run it through an online compressor.
