Exactly what I think. I don't see how it will end well.
It's basically a hybrid, much like when you breed different species of dogs to create a brand new breed. Humans weren't actually alive to know exactly what a dire wolf looks like, only through fossils and genetic research. Still, intriguing story though!

I think this is wonderful. I have also heard that the Woolly Mammoth is a possibility to return to this earth.
What is one animal you wish that they could restore? Hard to pick one but I would say the dodo bird.

A leviathan like megalodon or mosasaurus. I hope Colossal Biosciences revive the woolly mammoth.
They aren't dire wolves. They're grey wolves that have been genetically modified to have some of the physical characteristics of dire wolves as we understand then from the fossil remains. Any DNA they managed to recover would have been so badly degraded as to be useless.
