Where did you get your pet??

Not a pet anymore

Not a pet anymore

Hi my name is Zander. I just joined today 8/2/2012. My dog Ebony started out as a pet. She was born July 29th, 2002. She was the second one in a litter of 4 boys and 1 additional girl. Her mother was a stray. Ebony is part Weener/terrier/Shetlen Sheep Dog (They look like a mini long haired collie, like Lassie). I had an indecent while in the public and my doctor told me I needed a Psychiatric Service Dog. I told my doctor I already had a dog, she said to get her trained. On September 1st, 2010 Ebony graduated all of her courses and became certified. I'm very grateful she entered my life. Sadly I can't upload the files because they exceed the "quota". So here's a link to see her:

Well it's a bit of a story. But I found my cat in a field behind my grandmothers house. The other kittens had been killed either due to some type of animal eating them, there was blood everywhere, or due to dehydration/starvation. There was only one left; a male kitten. So I took him in fed him, gave him water and have had him ever since. His name is Dante by the way. 😱k:

I bought my Long-haired Chihuahua from a breeder, we had him for over 6 years, he passed away 6 months ago. The evening we lost "Javier" I heard my two daughters giggling at the door at the cutest little fluffball I have ever seen. We cleaned him up, fed him and searched for his owner. No luck, so we named him Lucky and he quickly became part of the family.
Oh, and have a couple of Platys that came from the petstore. 😀

AWHH I got Lincoln Burrows Dragon at a pet-adoption drive outside of a petsmart or a petco (I don't remember which cause I was kinda out of sorts.) My friends and I were looking at all the dogs, as they are both heavily dog lovers, and I snuck over to the cat tent, cause I'mma cat person. Linc was so cute and loveable and just the most adorable thing ever!! Unfortunately, he is also a REALLY GOOD ACTOR, and that little **** has been nothing but trouble ever since. 🙂 cute-ass cat! 😀

My friend gave me my older cat, True Bell she's 2. About a year later in March she gave birth to my other cat Zazzy and he is 1.

I got my two guinea pigs from a breeder nearby. One is a rex called Fozzy-Bear and the other is a peruvian called Darcy. They're both girls and we got them last month. I was supposed to get them at six weeks old but one of them fell ill so we had to wait an extra five days. Best animals I've ever owned and already spoilt. 😛

Jake my oldest dog who is 7 years old now was born by a local breeder and he cost $200 and David who is 4 years old now was born the exact same way by a local breeder and he cost $300. Both of my dogs are pure Dachshund! :thumb:

Well I have 4 dogs, and 1 cat.

My cat was found in a parking lot as a kitten, by a family friend. So he gave her to me.

My Pembroke Welsh Corgi and my Shiba Inu were both my ex-girlfriend's dogs, and she found them at a mall pet shop. I just sort of claimed them as mine too, since I became so attached to them.

My Beagle/Daschund/Jack Russel mix was given to me by a family friend.

My Great Pyrenees I took in as my own when I found him with a broken leg and starving, from his original owners abandoning him.

Scamp: My first dog - While my Dad was working in the police someone brought in a box with a little rejected puppy in it. Dad instantly fell inlove with her and took her home, she's been the best dog anyone could ask for and the most loving animal I've ever came across.

Sasha: Second dog AKA the terror - We bought her for ?600 from a breeder. Her mother and father are both 1st prize winning show dogs. When we got her she was a chubby ball of fluff. Her father is by far the most perfect looking German Shepherd I've seen. He's massive and regal looking with the most handsome "dog" features and a beautiful coat. I can't wait for Sasha to mature into her full size, she still has a little puppy look right now to her. :shy: But she's a beautiful dog also. She's hard work but I'd never change her. :heartbeat

Midnight was dropped off at a former vets house as a puppy, only two months old; the family wasn't able to take care of her. My Mom and I were going with her boyfriend to see his brother and Midnight was out playing in the yard. My Mom at the time had a mini pin named Chloe and Midnight looks just like her so after tons of pleading, I got to take her home with me. She's been with me the last 3 years and she's the best dog , even if she's spoiled. <3

Katara was picked up off the streets by my mechanic and he already has three dogs so wasn't able to keep her. I brought her home and basically said I was keeping her, and I've had her for the last year now. She's a spoiled brat and I'm still training her, it's a lot of work. What a stubborn dog let me tell you. <3

I usually take in strays, or just go down to my local shelter or the city dog pound.

My older mutt came from the city pound awaiting the gas chamber, in 2010.
My Cairn Terrier came from a hoarding case, was placed in a shelter, adopted twice, returned both times, then I adopted him in 2011.
My Whippet was given to me at no cost by his breeder in August 2012, he competes in AKC conformation each month, and is on his way to a championship.

One of my cats came from the local shelter, the other six came from the streets, abandoned by their owners.

My youngest rabbit was given to me for free by the pet supply store manager, she was dying of gastrointestinal stasis which is no shocker considering she was removed from her mother at a week old and didn't know how to eat on her own, but I nursed her and she recovered slowly but surely, and is going on three years old now.
My oldest rabbit was dumped at the same pet supply store by her careless owners, another free rabbit for me.
And my newest rabbit, he's less than a year old, was surrendered over to the local animal shelter and once I met him I had to take him home.

I'll be getting another Whippet in the future, as a companion for my current, and also to compete in conformation. After that, I want to rescue another small breed that will be a companion for my Cairn Terrier. 😛
