I get why "tell" is censored because of ********, but why is "com" censored? You know how confusing it is when you're saying "tell him to come here" and it gets turned into a wall of ******** ? Just wondering why

The spam filter is ever changing in an attempt to try it combat the annoying spammers in the room and bots.
My guess (as this list is only controlled by the owners) is one of the bots is using that letter combo and adding to the list has been successful in auto banning them.
I know the filter can cause headaches but it truly does more good than harm.

Because of the PM bots advertising .com websites.

I don't see how it can be claimed that this does more good than harm if you can't hold a normal conversation in a *chat* room ... it's not just the example used above ... it's even random combinations of letters ... like t - e - l- l ... and there are SO many words with the letters c, o, and m in them ... with every passing month, chat windows look like a blanket of asterisks (not just a minor nuissance) ... it makes even less sense when you realise that there is different censoring across your different chat rooms (e.g. Gay Chat vs Adult Chat). How does the Adult room deal with . co m bots without having to censor every other word? Why does the Gay Chat room get the ultra-authoritarian version of the AI asterisk filter? PLEASE re-consider this?
the spam filter is controlled by the owners. It doesn’t specifically mean something that ends in .com is what they are controlling. There may be a common bot message that is using c o m in there so it’s added to the spam filter to rid them quickly.
As I’ve stated before it changes periodically so this might not even be censored for a long time.
Different rooms have different bot messages sometimes. I know this as I admin both gay and sex. We send the owners new bot messages we see and they adjust the filter.
I understand and hear your concerns but the statement still stands that it does more good than harm.
