Why don't we make the room 17+ and move the minors to kids and teen chat? Maybe this would keep alot of the undesirables we see everyday in one place where they are easier to control, kick and ban? Just a thought to try to make the site safer.
 
teen chat no way i only go in there if a mod is on and even then reports can take like an hour to get done. and kids chat has nobody in there when i check

teen chat and before kid chat is like a perv magnet

always had mods I'm both when I have been in tbh. Just takes away another option for them in my opinion and CM could employ more mods in both rooms to police the minor rooms from the weirdos. Or am I being 2 simplistic ?

Both Teen Chat and Kids Chat are there for that reason. For ones of those age groups to have an atmosphere only for those age groups. Maybe you would be happier there 🙂 Ive give it a shot since you seem displeased with Girls Chat.

What a strange reply who said I wasn't happy? I was seeing if we could make any improvements to the room safety I certainly wasn't having a go at the management of the room or the mods who manage it. Sorry for making a suggestion to be debated it certainly was nothing to do with my happiness.

I believe in my team and the hard work we put in day in and day out to protect everyone. Im sorry you dont feel that is the case.
 
You are not reading my post this was purely about seeing if improvements can be made? Nothing to do with the management? I believe the management has actually improved as I have said previously and the admin and mods are working very well. I was asking a genuine question for debate by people on the forum please don't take it personal

You said the room could be safer, meaning we arent doing our jobs. Ive pointed out other options Chat Avenue provides so that you can spend your time here the way you wish. So again, Im very proud of the work my team does every day, hopefully one day we will live up to your standards! Have a great weekend! 🙂
 
Fine and thank you for your opinion but I would be interested in other people's views and Ideas. This is just an open forum for people's views not just mine
 
@Simply Karina - an all around room admin that has shown good patterns for the Girls Chat Rooms hands down!

She said “the site safer” in the OP but because she is a user of girls chat, I think her post has been misinterpreted innocently and it’s escalated.

EDIT: General Chat do that. Pretty sure it was Chelle belle got a complaint and HR backed her up for suggesting a 13yo to go to teen chat.

Edit 2: and in the context of as to why Chelle said it, it was justified.

I like how op is trying to make a suggestion and the response is "if you don't like how my staff is doing things, because my staff is awesome btw, why don't you go elsewhere?" it's giving nationalist vibes.
 
Staff can be doing their job well and a place still be overrun with the freakies. That's the nature of these types of places, you aint ever gonna get rid of all them.

But the suggestion itself, of having girls chat be purely 17+ isn't a great idea. The thought of keeping people in one place to manage the kicks better is good, but then: 1) anyone under 17 (but 13 or over) would be forced into kids or teen, where they may not want to socialise with those people, and would rather stick to a certain group. 2) that's just going to make it harder for the teen and kids chat staff, as that's alot more people, on top of all the people already causing issues, it's a pain in the ass that isn't needed. And since this would most likely have to be implemented to Boys aswell since it would be unfair if it was one and not the other, that's even more people.

TL;DR the idea has some good ideas on paper, but probably wouldn't do much good in practice. And dont immediately assume someone's bashing the staff (altho, that very well could be the intention, but I dont think it is)
 
I think the biggest problem with any age restricted area is that there's no validation. Nothing is or can be done to validate someone's age. So it's foolhardy for mods or admins to keep insisting that people should stay in their lane.
 
How about we make chats for every age????? Plzzz CM, listen to us.
I’d like a “29 yr old chat only” chat.

That's actually not a bad idea. The main age parameters of Girls Chat aren't going to be changed to 17+, but you could make a 17+ or 18+ side room in Girls Chat specifically as a Women's Chat and encourage chätters in that age range to join you there @cat_.
