Working full time and going to school full time

Hey there, was just looking for any general advice or tips from people who have experienced this in the past. Specifically working full time (40 hours) while being a full time student. I’m doing it now and while I’m making it through, it certainly is a struggle. I often find the stress of trying to pay bills, eat healthy food, turn in all these assignments and working in a kitchen to just be a lot. So please share your experiences, advice, and general wisdom for me and anyone else going through this! Thank you.

It is very hard trust me I know. I work a full time and part time, and take classes. What worked for me was getting the hours lined up how I needed them. I work full time overnights on the weekend, and the second job is in the evening Monday through Friday. It’s hard if you have a job which constantly changes your schedule. My normal is :

M-Thur

Wake up
Second job
Gym
Eat
School
Mod chat
Then in the morning before bed I shop, meal prep, do appointments, and whatever else like clean house.
Sleep

F-sun is hard because I work 3 12’s overnight.
Wake up,
Eat
Work,”
Do school if we are slow
Go home
Sleep

I only average 5-6 hours of sleep a night. For me I feel that’s okay. Hell who knows it might be killing me but I feel ok and get straight A’s. Everyone is different.

Meal prep saved time and weight.
******/apple calendar. I put everything in it doesn’t matter what it is. I live by a schedule if not I’ll miss something.

It’s hard babe but if you can find a pattern it becomes second nature.

Or course kitchen work will vary so make a plan with substitutes for days you work a strange shift.

If you need we can video and try to work out a schedule together.

This is something I have done throughout my academic studies and I'm now a PhD candidate and working full time.

It's hard and burn out is real. Make sure you carve out time for yourself and self care, use your PTO at work wisely these are handy during deadline and exam times.

Remind yourself this won’t be long term. Keep grinding and studying you know that you are working towards a goal. You’re still young this is the time to establish yourself and build your foundation. Also pace yourself.

Now this is 100% real honesty coming from someone that went to school and work same days, it really depends what your goal is and what you tryna learn about and again working had me access stuff others couldn't but only downside you'd get a lower salary as you're still in education but again stay in school for a better life 🧬

I totally feel you—it’s tough to balance work and school! Here are a few tips that helped me:

  1. Time management is key. Plan your days, prioritize tasks, and use any downtime to catch up on schoolwork.
  2. Self-care matters. Even small breaks help. If you can, meal prep to make eating healthier easier.
  3. Ask for help. Whether it’s professors, classmates, or your boss, don’t be afraid to lean on others.
  4. Celebrate small wins. Every little goal you hit is progress.
  5. Be kind to yourself. You're doing a lot, so give yourself credit for sticking with it.

You’ve got this—just keep pushing, and remember you’re not alone in this struggle!

The fella who wrote this thread darling has sadly stopped using this service.

He now busks outside grand station.

That’s intense! Juggling a full-time job and studies at the same time is no small feat. First, you need to be an extremely organized person to keep everything on track, and second, it’s just as important to find ways to relax whenever you can. Burnout can creep up fast, so making time for self-care is key. After chatting with this aromatech customer service, I realized that taking a bath with essential oils and soothing scents is what helps me unwind the most. It’s become my go-to relaxation ritual, and it really makes a difference
