Happy Pride brother, glad you decided to come out!

Congrats Bread!

Just a remind that PRIDE is the celebration and support of the LGBTQ+ community AND its allies (including straight people). Straight people serve an equally important role in PRIDE. Happy pride to EVERYONE.

( imo a month is a bit over the top) especially when veterans and unions get but one day, and religious groups/god get just a few days but that's just my opinion.

Veterans deserve a lot more recognition but in fairness nobody in authority (ie. Governments) set up any of the pride events whereas we have events marking D-Day, VE Day, VJ Day, and Remembrance Day which are Government led so I don’t think it’s comparable really. Someone with a connection to the veteran community should really start a movement to get more recognition for them - maybe the whole of November should be dedicated to veterans.

Regarding religion - in the UK there’s a Bank Holiday for Christmas including at least a week’s shutdown of some businesses and another day for Easter including closing businesses, and until relatively recently the majority of businesses couldn’t legally operate on a Sunday which meant that overall nearly 2 months of the year were dedicated to Jesus. (I’m not complaining. I like not working)

On top of that, for at least a couple of thousand years people have been free to congregate, dress up in robes if they wish, parade with candles and crosses, to sing and give praise to Jesus and do so as often as they like (daily 24/7 if they wish). #JesusPride

do 30 days mean its more important? I dont see anyone taking the month off for pride. Are you upset no one is closing stores for pride?

Good friday, easter and christmas occupy 2months? since when?

Since you apparently skim read what I posted

52 Sundays a year + Christmas Day + 2 days at Easter. = 55 days + the other few days at Christmas = about 2 months

do 30 days mean its more important?
Nope. Neither are the 50-odd days dedicated to Jesus, peace be upon him

dont see anyone taking the month off for pride
Neither do I. You’re free to advocate for that if you wish but it’s not something I’d have an interest in.

Are you upset no one is closing stores for pride?
Hell no! I’d be more upset if they did close. The abolition of Sunday trading laws was a good move although some were upset that 52 days of Jesus pride were diluted.

now subtract 52 sundays that are meaningless and not holidays and you end up with 3 days.

50 odd days spread out over the year are relevant to 30 consecutive days of prancing, how?
