I do relate in the opposite direction tho. Like, grapefruit for example, I like anything labelled as being flavoured as such, but despise grapefruit itself.

Unfortunately, it doesn't end there.

After it was explained to this jewel of the chat community how corrupt and dishonest it would be to solicit a position of authority with the ulterior intent of RETALIATION against someone he holds personal animosity towards, Mr. 'ideal candidate' over here then tried to walk back (i.e., lie about) the meaning of his spam 'campaign slogan' (see above #31) and DENY it was referring to said individual he happens to hold personal animosity towards, with a ridiculous cover-up story/gaslighting attempt.

Are we seriously making becoming a mod an election? We have enough issues with elections and authority being given in the real world! I specifically spend my time online to AVOID the catastrophe that is my country's politics.

On that note #Eridian4Mod.

The venality of the OP, i.e., seeing it as a position to be 'campaigned for' is troubling, and disqualifying in and of itself.

A bona fide IDEAL CANDIDATE for the position (unlike the OP) is someone who was ASKED (they themselves didn't ask) and reluctantly ACCEPTED. Pleading for the position (much less the shameless, over-the-top self-promotion of the OP) should be DISQUALIFYING.

For which this thread should serve as VINDICATION given the QUESTIONABLE MOTIVES of the OP that have been brought to the surface.

The analogy I would make is with martial arts: the etiquette is that the coach lets the student know when they are ready for a belt promotion- not the other way around. A student ASKING to be promoted ensures their promotion will be DENIED.
