There is no LGB without the T

I am very hesitant to wade in on this subject for a bunch of reasons but mostly because I don't have a dog in the race.

I think any group or organisation (as much as this movement is organised) can include or exclude who ever they want to.

I do note that not all gay and lesbian people identify as members of this movement and several of my trans friends do not identify as members of this movement. I am pretty sure a good percentage of the population who could be included in the movement don't see themselves as part of it.

As a lesbian this movement is not my scene, if its yours all power to you.

Aren't you friends with, like, 2 trans people?
Uh not sure? but even if I am I view them as any normal people but as a gay guy I don't believe the T should be with LGB but that's because they are different things imo but I don't have a problem with it being there I just criticise it.

I think this one is a few chromosomes short of a human. Bro is going full on cray cray.
Good to see that you just resort to insults because you have nothing better to say 😭

Okay - Genuine question... Why do you say it is "not your scene" is it your scene when it is only LGB? Is it the T portion that puts you off it?

I'm not trying to cause drama here - I'm trying to understand the thought process of someone who seems to disagree without being a vile person about it, if that makes sense?

Everyone is allowed their opinion, I fully support that, but you can have an opinion and berate or belittle others whilst doing so for simply existing.

Sorry, I didn’t realise he was your significant other.

He’s able to attack an entire group of humans (be it with a poor grasp of the English language), but if I call them crazy, that’s an insult?

I didn't know who you were referring to lol. Sorry. Thought it was to me.

The whole point of the LGBT movement is to treat people as equals and embrace the differences. While being trans isn't the same boat as being gay, the community itself can be joined because they're fighting for the same cause and were discriminated against for the same reason and time as the gay community.

Remember - the people that fought really hard for gay rights in the first place, back when rolling people into carpets and lighting them on fire was a normal Tuesday - were mostly cross dressers and trans women. (Stonewall et all)

Couple of thoughts on all the trans debates:

  1. Only around 1% of the world is estimated to be trans and the discussion about trans people is hugely disproportionate
  2. The Williams Institute estimates that among the 1.3 million adults in the U.S. who identify as transgender, 38.5% (515,200) are transgender women, 35.9% (480,000) are transgender men, and 25.6% (341,800) identify as gender nonconforming. The distribution between male-to-female (MTF) and female-to-male (FTM) is fairly balanced. The intense focus on the issue of "biological men using women's bathrooms" says more about the individuals promoting that agenda than about the actual issue at hand. There is rarely any attention given to FTM trans individuals; the focus is almost always on MTF. If those who oppose trans people, or their right to use facilities that align with their gender identity, were to present their arguments for both MTF and FTM individuals, it might make their stance more credible. But as it stands, the fixation is almost entirely on MTF.
  3. Finally, on the bathroom/toilet issue: No-one is yet to say how the policing of toilets/bathrooms is going to work. IMO it's a non-issue that's seized on by anyone trying to get votes/get noticed/get attention and then kiss the asses of those that actually do hold those views (much like Trump who had no issue with trans people in his first term but went after the anti-trans vote to gain a second term)

Or it's called having a discussion ( heated or not ) to get your point across. The forums are dead so any kind of thread is better than none.
Hey, if you wanna spend your time arguing with a troll then knock yourself out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Happy Friday 🥳

It is a tricky issue. It may be disproportionate, and most people of whatever variations are just trying to get with their lives.

- But perhaps it gets so much attention because some trans people - mostly biologically male - and others - get very strident and insist trans women ARE women. Saying that offends many ordinary folks' sense of logic and reason and biology.
- One can 'feel' like a woman, perhaps, but that is also tricky, and touches on an even older debate about discrimination than gay rights etc - because women have been struggling against men telling them how they think for over a century, you know? It feels like an erosion of women's hard-fought rights when a man can state "I feel like a woman inside". *(see note 1).

[and these two points may suggest WHY MTF gets more attention]. because it is biological males who lead the charge and are more confrontational in general; because of our biological sex *(see note2), and hormones?]. Perhaps its also relevant that FTM gets less attention because biological females are less disposed to 'making a fuss', due also to biology.

Re 3. The issue is not much bathrooms, as for example natural-born men entering women's sports and women-only spaces. Eg it becomes a problem when male bodies - being faster and stronger - compete against female bodies (that's obviously why women's sports were set up in the first place). There was that unedifying spectacle of a trans MTF beating up a woman in boxing a few years ago. And more pertinently, women-only spaces such as (most) domestic abuse support groups set up for females who've experienced domestic abuse and violence from males. Some women naturally feel uncomfortable being around ALL men, which is why they are female-only groups.

*(note1)
(i find that a ludicrous thing to say. At the end of the day, we all feel like ourselves, and we are different. And if some people want to have a group called LGB, then that is their choice, surely. And including the T in lesbian gay etc, surely suggests that it is same-sex attraction, also. Which as I understand it, some on the trans side strenuously deny, when saying trans women ARE women).
*(note2)
Whether one agrees or not, the UK Supreme Court ruled last week that there only two accepted genders, in law.

pps.
Just a thought --- Maybe the 'religion' comparison is something like - I have my beliefs and dont try to force them on others - so, its similar with trans ideology - everyone is welcome to their beliefs, but dont try and force them on people.

Admittedly, that jones person didnt express it very well, etc, and is an exception to my general comment that females are less disposed to be confrontational. Also kinda missed the point of the original post, but i can see how its kinda relevant.

yeah the same way I'm told I'm delulu is the same way the T is out of the lgb learn how to spell

no **** sherlock women are women get it
you fekin eegit - you are telling someone else to spell - and you can not tell the difference between women and women in context. Noted how I spelt the start of my sentence so you could clearly understand.

Your opinion does not affect mine and nobody will ever change my mind that all humans whether born in the wrong body or want to change their gender, orientation or who they are attracted too have every right to live safe and free in this world. On the other hand I refuse to accept region as an entity as religion is full of pedophile hiding behind a cloak. No decent human would follow this crap with the continual abuse of children that is covered up by a church or cursh a persons dream.

But again that is your right to believe in such rubbish.

ignore Jones, it's not a happy person.

But YOU - also, dont go around saying what people think is 'rubbish'. You are as bad as jones.
Seriously dude.
AND ps, the catholic church may have issues like what you said, but dont paint them all with the same brush.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

"born in the wrong body". that is not logical. We are born how we are, we have innies or outies. We are all individuals yes. But I disagree with that comment. You are yet another male telling women how they feel. assuming you know what it is like to be female.
Have you ever experienced a period? Exactly, I thought not.

Today I learned that the defining feature of women is -checks notes- having experienced a period. Thanks Random Guy!

I have no idea what it's like to 'be a woman'. that was my point lol.

My point is we are different, both sexes are different, but we are all people, too. Right?

I'm totally not trying to cause trouble here. I shall be silent.
