It's a team effort to remove filth and majority of the staff here work hard to ensure a pleasant chatting experience....if you're a regular in a room or the forums why don't you apply to mod and put your money where your mouth is? Of course not because sitting there and being critical, placing blame and dribbling shite is so much easier.

You're just going to go with the backhanded "power hungry" comment each time we remove site rule violations anyway so I don't see why I'm giving you a response..... I guess I'm feeling generous just this one time.

Back to the topic at hand before the derailment train arrived...

In the years I've modded, I've seen a lot. People think modding is easy, but time and time again, I've watched those same people actually try and fail miserably. I've even seen a few of them quit within a week, frustrated and appalled by the content they have to sift through. There's even a term for it -- it's called "rage-quit."

I get the frustration of just trying to have a nice chat but the rule-breakers ruin it for everyone -- and then, to top it all off, there are no mods in the room! My advice is, use the "ignore" button to make them disappear from your screen, then the "report" button for an arriving mod to review. In theory, it would be wonderful to hand VIPs and regulars the ability to mute/kick nasty content (without having to go through the actual process of becoming a moderator). The problem is, finding people who aren't ruled by their emotions and will not action others based on their personal feelings or an argument is actually harder than one might think. Even regulars and VIPs struggle with this notion.

If you want to clean up the room, become a moderator. Be a part of a team who's already actively working together to make the room a more positive experience for everyone. Through conversations within your team, you also collectively discuss how to improve the room and what it will take to make it better down the road. Why not be a part of an established system and come to it with fresh, new ideas instead?

The suggestion that users can help mods would lead to a pack mentality and would make it worse.

Change can only occur top down and the top doesn’t seem to want change. Those being used to admin rooms don’t suggest improvements as the top doesn’t want them and admin levels for some reason like their roles too much to make suggestions and insist that changes occur.

As no change occurs let’s all

I’m a dreamer. Sometimes I dream of a chat where we don’t have to deal with seeing people trying to sell disgusting things on Discord the minute that a mod leaves the room. AHEM* We all know what I’m talking about, it’s a plague that somehow hits the screen *the minute * that the mods leave.
In the past I have mused about maybe having a vote to kick option that THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE could take advantage of to remove that kind of problem when said moderators are not around. (I’m not bashing mods, I’m thankful for all of the time that you all put in to keeping things clean for us, you all do the best you can BUT you can’t be there all the time so here we are)
The responses I got in the past were that it would be abused (valid point), so I was thinking that this kind of thing could be offered to people who frequent the chat and are vips, sort of way to further enrich the experience and help the mods not have to take care of 30 minutes of backtracking every time they come in the room.
How many votes would be needed? Can a community really be capable of self moderation? Who would get to vote ? Anybody ? Select few? Users only ? VIP only ? Ex mods only? Only mods from other rooms ? Would this work only in robust communities that have lots of ******** or would it work in smaller more tight knit chats ?

p.s. props to you for the unique idea. I've heard the suggestion of "universal chat mods" countless times so when I read the title I thought it was another one of those. That's refreshing.

It's been said in the past that any kind of voting is unfair because people with more friends/connections/influence in the room could ask their friends to vote in favour of what they would like.

I also don't believe there is such an option to enable such actions in the chat software. Definitely like the originality and personally think it's a good idea when mods aren't able to be present.

Correction I used this site when I was a teenager it was the 1st ever chat site I ever used in my life it was like a little box and the chat was so fast 💨 and it dinged out with private messages in main and it was a lot more packed than itis now especially since he set you as admin SO don’t tell me anything back space bitch

Don't waste your time many previous have tried to clean the room and many will try after - nothing will happen until you have an owner who wants to clean up the site and volunteer staff who are willing to stand up and be counted - neither of those things are going to happen and it will continue to be the sess pit it always was and will continue way into the future - try a cleaner option is the only way out from the blatant vile stuff posted

I've seen admins and moderators cloning the names of well-known trolls just to blame those same trolls for messes they themselves created.

I've seen former moderators, after being removed, spamming rooms to sabotage the administration.

It happens often - you get used to the tantrums as quickly as they pass.

I've seen moderators and administrators spreading rumors about the admin as part of a conspiracy to bring him down.

The difference between a troll using a guest account and a troll moderator is simple: one has power, the other doesn't.

The way you talk makes it seem like having a red name or a badge automatically makes someone a better person. But that’s not the case. I've seen users with red and blue names saying horrible things to Princessa and Hannah, for example.

Now tell me: why would a truly good and honest person want to moderate a room where many of their coworkers are corrupt?

Given that, there would only be four paths left for him:

• Turn a blind eye to his coworkers' corruption,
• Kick out his own coworkers,
• Ask to be demodded,
• Or become a corrupt staff member himself.

If he already knows how that road ends, why the hell would he follow it?

Wow! How did I never think of that? Reporting with screenshots would magically solve all my "petty problems" around here, right?

Well then—what if I show you screenshots proving that I'm being doxed right in front of your eyes? Actual evidence, which I've already reported—and nothing was done.

And guess what? The troll doing it has even hinted, between the lines, that she’s doing it on purpose—to get me to overuse the report system and end up banned for it. He implied that whoever is protecting her wants exactly that. Is that why my reports are being ignored?

Because if you’re telling me that taking this to the Chatmaster or an Admin will actually solve the harassment I’m going through, then I’ll show everything right here—and tag the @Chatmaster too.
