  1. (sometimes derogatory) English"

How long did it take you to dig that out? It's wrong.

This is from Learngaelic a proper Scots Gaelic site:

That one even gives you a hint of the etymology of sassanach. but of course, don't take the word of a native speaker or respected dictionaries for it, wiki says it so it must be true. 🙄

2. = economically. Westminster gives more money to scotland, then it recieves in taxes.
so, economically, nah, independence wont work - unless you want to depend on handouts from Europe instead?
Which conveniently ignores the huge quantities of power we export to England and our ever growing renewable resources and world leadership in renewable technology and research. Oh and then there's mineral resources, income from tourism, export earnings and numerous other assets that don't show in income tax figures...

Again, England needs us more than we need England. If that weren't the case we wouldn't even need a referendum, you'd be happy to see the back of us as a money sink...

@RandomGuyUK you’ll never be in a situation where @emileh doesn’t know all the facts to back up her arguments - and slaughter anyone who’s on the opposing side. I’ve seen many try, and fail miserably.

I have a bet with myself that @emileh will be either a future FM or perhaps if the votes come in President of Scotland

Oh aye, before anyone else tries to mansplain my native tongue and first language to me, sasannach refers specifically to people and things, not the English language. The Gaidhlig word for English as in the language is Beurla.

Tha Gàidhlig agus Beurla agam.

'dago' is an english word meaning spanish.

both are derogatory.

@emileh has been calling me that for a while. Zero offense taken.

Other people always seem to get offended by the names she calls me. Happened with bodach too.

Oh and yes, I'm an SNP voter. I want independence from the UK. That makes me a nationalist and I'm good with that. I believe in it to the extent that I did not apply for Cambridge to do my degrees as my mum wanted me to do, I applied to a Scottish university.

I also passionately believe in social justice and compassion. The so called left in England are indistinguishable from the right and both, like the current US administration, pursue the politics of petty vindictiveness. That's probably another good reason for wanting independence. Scotland is a modern progressive country and long may it remain so.
Rejoining the EU defeats the purpose of independence. You're not a nationalist if you want to rejoin the EU.
