How long did it take you to dig that out? It's wrong.Sasannach - Wiktionary, the free dictionary
en.wiktionary.org
"Sasannach (genitive singular masculine Sasannaich, genitive singular feminine Sasannaiche or Sasannaich, nominative plural Sasannach)
'nuff said
- (sometimes derogatory) English"
Which conveniently ignores the huge quantities of power we export to England and our ever growing renewable resources and world leadership in renewable technology and research. Oh and then there's mineral resources, income from tourism, export earnings and numerous other assets that don't show in income tax figures...2. = economically. Westminster gives more money to scotland, then it recieves in taxes.
so, economically, nah, independence wont work - unless you want to depend on handouts from Europe instead?
First, your language sucks. Second, reported for posting links.Oh aye, before anyone else tries to mansplain my native tongue and first language to me, sasannach refers specifically to people and things, not the English language. The Gaidhlig word for English as in the language is Beurla.
Tha Gàidhlig agus Beurla agam.
It's more expressive than yours 😛First, your language sucks. Second, reported for posting links.
We can literally express everything we need to with facial expressions and gestures. You need all those derogatory words about the English. It's more expressive than yours 😛

That one even gives you a hint of the etymology of sassanach. but of course, don't take the word of a native speaker or respected dictionaries for it, wiki says it so it must be true. 🙄
As I’m eating vegetable pakora and kadai chicken 🫡😂
@emileh has been calling me that for a while. Zero offense taken.i understand your link. it just means 'saxon' i know that too.
still derogatory.
sassenach is a scots word meaning english.
Rejoining the EU defeats the purpose of independence. You're not a nationalist if you want to rejoin the EU.Oh and yes, I'm an SNP voter. I want independence from the UK. That makes me a nationalist and I'm good with that. I believe in it to the extent that I did not apply for Cambridge to do my degrees as my mum wanted me to do, I applied to a Scottish university.
I also passionately believe in social justice and compassion. The so called left in England are indistinguishable from the right and both, like the current US administration, pursue the politics of petty vindictiveness. That's probably another good reason for wanting independence. Scotland is a modern progressive country and long may it remain so.
