Minority for this. But you need a defenseman more than you do a Gavin. You have some offensive pieces, but you really don’t have any defensemen at all.
No honestly, we need this kids skill and point production to replace what we lost when Marner walked.
YES we need a dman, but if you think they would pass on McKenna just for a position of need, thats not the smart play. That would be like when Colorado picked McKinnon, but they were loaded up front and needed D, they could have picked Seth Jones, the were even criticized for picking Nathan. Look how that turned out?
Its McKenna all the way and we will solve the D another way.

After those 2 its some decent top 4 dmen and Manny's kid. The top 5 is pretty solid no lie. Thats a big reason I wanted us to keep our pick this year, get a player who can help now, and give Boston a pick in the 20's for the Carlo deal.

Do you know how every single draft year there’s like a year where there’s really good prospects and then there’s that year where there’s a generational prospect I feel like this year is that year for the generational prospect and next year they’re just gonna be solid very good players if that makes sense.

Yup... I mean jury is out, Im not sure McKenna is generational, I think he is just a slot below or on the cusp of generational. I sure hope for the latter. Hes one heck of a skilled kid though, exactly what the Leafs need for Matthews and Nylander. That can slot Knies back down with Tavares and Cowan nicely. Suddenly our top 6 looks good and we can stop pretending Domi or Macielli are top 6 players.
The leafs could use a top six physical player. That would be my only reason for taking Ivan respectfully right now. Gavin is getting in a bar fight does not make him physical lol.
We have that with Knies and Cowan. We needed skill and points to replace Marner. Gavin does exactly that.
I think you should trade that pick for Mitch Marner.
