Long story short was going to surprise my girlfriend and She (Islander Fan) can’t go. She got sick at the last night, so taking my uncle. As much as i dislike the Islanders, they’re a hell of a lot cheaper than Rangers admittedly and only 20Mins away.
I’m actually gonna be serious. I’m impressed by Schaeffer. He’s gonna be good for them for years to come.

I’m actually only going because the tickets are dirt cheap. Literally disgusted at how much tickets are to go see the Rangers play. I’m a Detroit Red Wings fan tonight.
He’s definitely gonna be a cornerstone for them. I’m hearing a McKenna and this year’s upcoming draft is the next like Gretzky type player. I’m wondering who’s gonna get him.

I have more confidence in them beating in Colorado. MY dream scenario would be Colorado and Tampa Bay eliminated.
Thats a series I am going to enjoy. Makar vs Hughes, MacKinnon vs Kaprizov. Big talent on both sides.
That’s a series i cannot see a sweep happening. As much as i want Colorado to lose, i don’t want it to happen in a sweep.
The oil is problem is that they don’t have a legitimate goalie they have everything else besides that.

Yeah and they moved off him for someone just as questionable, and then he lasted what, 2 games? They really have to find a goalie.
That’s exactly my point. They had someone like a Saros for example we would be in a completely different conversation. I’ll even go so far am say this Toronto has a better goaltender situation. But they have other issues no offense.
Just the overall fact that in the last, 3 years... Askarov was traded, Gibson was traded (older but viable), Markstrom, Ullmark, Thompson... So many options but they go for Jarry who had idential numbers to Skinner. Just head shaking

Im glad Canada still has a team in the fight. I sure didnt have Montreal vs Buffalo of all teams to be facing eachother in the second round.

Even though Vegas is winning this game, I don’t have a preference as to who would want to lose. I’d love to see I guess if someone told me I had to pick someone in Vegas, so John could keep his coaching job. He’s a fantastic coach and just some places didn’t work out.
He is... He just has a shelf life, which is 100% his MO. Hes a closer coach. You want change, to win, to whip butt... Hes one of those coaches. Same as what Darryl Suter was in LA.

YES we need a dman, but if you think they would pass on McKenna just for a position of need, thats not the smart play. That would be like when Colorado picked McKinnon, but they were loaded up front and needed D, they could have picked Seth Jones, the were even criticized for picking Nathan. Look how that turned out?
Its McKenna all the way and we will solve the D another way.

After those 2 its some decent top 4 dmen and Manny's kid. The top 5 is pretty solid no lie. Thats a big reason I wanted us to keep our pick this year, get a player who can help now, and give Boston a pick in the 20's for the Carlo deal.

Do you know how every single draft year there’s like a year where there’s really good prospects and then there’s that year where there’s a generational prospect I feel like this year is that year for the generational prospect and next year they’re just gonna be solid very good players if that makes sense.

Yup... I mean jury is out, Im not sure McKenna is generational, I think he is just a slot below or on the cusp of generational. I sure hope for the latter. Hes one heck of a skilled kid though, exactly what the Leafs need for Matthews and Nylander. That can slot Knies back down with Tavares and Cowan nicely. Suddenly our top 6 looks good and we can stop pretending Domi or Macielli are top 6 players.
The leafs could use a top six physical player. That would be my only reason for taking Ivan respectfully right now. Gavin is getting in a bar fight does not make him physical lol.
We have that with Knies and Cowan. We needed skill and points to replace Marner. Gavin does exactly that.
I think you should trade that pick for Mitch Marner.
