Rules for applying
Before You Apply, Please Ask Yourself:
- Do I take direction well, even if it’s not what I want to hear?
- Most are a bot, some more than others i have not found original thought, depth, philosophy, rich experiences, i'm getting depressed about the afterlife trying to talk to them. I feel like im in a lovecraftian novel. But following orders yes they follow orders like a soldier being told to shoot everyone and start with the kids. But so does AI so why not just rip the bandaid and put AI on we wont be able to tell its not actually a human.
- Is my record in General Chat squeaky clean (no infractions)?
- Almost nobody has a clean record, at some point you have said something spicy unless you're not human so this has to be changed to " Are you (Leigh's) bestie". The rules are so vague and open for interpretation, it makes *******'s rules look honest. Out of the new mods, the only one that fits this is HWA, but she barely says anything, the amount of human sentences with the appropriate depth of someone trying to be human she says per hour makes chat GPT 0.2 alpha sound like a greek philosopher. You can not break the rules if you don't use chat to chat.
- Am I available to moderate for at least 30 minutes at a time (ideally around 2 hours a day)?
- Preferably at the same time in practice. The preds have started physically handing pamphlets and gluing advertisements when there are no mods which is half the time on the clock before tea, more consistent than Japanese train schedules. Then the other half theres 10 mods online arguing whether they should kick someone for saying bitch or ****.
- Can I stay calm and unbothered (having thick skin), even when someone’s clearly trying to “poke the bear”?
- Definitely not Jose, Irish, IlCapitano the new mods are for the most part holding to the requirements a bit more, like having new staff makes them try to suppress their annoyance and prevents corruption and you need to refresh staff once in awhile. Overall the only people who show maturity consistently when poked at are Leigh and Drock.
- Do I understand that being a mod means fairness and respect for everyone, even people I might not get along with?
- Absolutely not. I'll give an example. Irish for example often sees different things than what is written and takes action prematurely, but in her defense she has a rich and dirty imagination and louder voices in her head than me which is impressive. Maybe she mods 30 minutes before her meds kick in in which case i apologize.
The lesson here is even if a burger flipper job requires 20 years experience at 18 and a masters in thermonuclear physics you should still apply because it doesn't matter what's written, but if the boss likes that you're willing to beg to be underpaid and overworked.
