It is their perogative, to think what they want to think. But thats not to say people who go into the presumed new lgbt room would also apply those same ideals to other users in the lgbt room.
Since there is already a gay and lez chat i dont see the need to create an additional lgbt main room. In my opinion there should just be an LGBT room as that covers "most" sexualities and eliminate lesbian/gay chat as it is just a repeat.
You want to create a room where LGBT people who arent gay or lez can feel comfortable in. This room would be called LGBT.
I am against this idea because there is already two rooms that cater to the lgbt community. I am also against it because the problem you describe is attributed by individuals rather than your sexuality. You yourself stated that its the regular ******** that are the problem. There is nothing stopping regular users from coming to your new room.
You witness discrimination to other sexualites that are anything but a fully fledged lesbian as well as experience it in Lesbian chat . Can you not understand that even if you create a LGBT room, those same lesbians/regs are also welcome there?
Heres are two examples:
- Hannah, sarah and jamie identify as lesbian and chat in lesbian chat. Hannah, sarah and jamie discriminate against your sexuality in lesbian chat because you are not a fully fledged lesbian. You create an LGTB where people who arent fully fledged lesbians can feel safe in. Hannah, sarah and jamie join the room because identify as lesbian, which is part of LGTB. Hannah, sarah and jamie continue to harass your sexuality in the new LGTB room.
- You create a new LGBT room. For some reason or other Bisexual people are discriminated against and dont feel safe in that room. Should we now "need" to create a Bisexual room too? A Q room as well?
The answer is moderating, not creating new safe spaces. If you feel uncomfortable in the room then find another available room, or create a sideroom where you and your friends can chat in. If there is obvious discrimination or harassment, that is against most chatrooms rules and that should be dealt with by moderating.
