Neither was I, especially not after Tkachuk got that first goal and got the place rocking. But Boston just never goes away, they are a persistent rash with one hell of a goaltender right now. Swayman goalie'd the Leafs, and he did it last night vs Florida.
 
Something isnt right though, the Pres trophy team shouldnt be killing it. Gotta be a glitch in the Matrix 😕
 
1994 look at the stats. A lot of things that happen with that team and other sports teams that year are happening again.

No surprise out of Leafs Nation that Sheldon Keefe is out as head coach. Helluva regular season coach, but could not coach this team in the playoffs.

Those are two very different distinctions. I dont think hes overrated in this generation, hes the best player of his time and for that legacy to really be solidified, he needs to win a cup. He has already proven he will never be as good, or as dominant as Gretz, no one will be.

A better comparison IMO would be Sid. I dont feel he is as good in his prime, as Crosby was in his, as an overall player. Speed, skill, point production wise, hes better, but overall dominant night in night out, ill take Sid.

Ironically i think Malkin is the more well rounded overall tbh.

The least consistent though. Hes had some down seasons, some injury plagued. That year thought Crosby went down and Malkin won the Hart, showed he had a beast mode in him.

In the sense that Malkin can do it all. Pp & Pk. I remember the first few years with Crosby HE NEVER killed penalties. (He eventually started to.) Malkin did from the start i believe though.

Yeah its true, Malkin as the 2C had to because at that time, that coach did not want Crosby to block a shot and get hurt. Malkin was good at it from the start, no denying that. But Crosby still had a defensive game, even though he was offensive as per the coach. That is a big reason those 2 dominated teams on both sides of the puck!

I remember watching one game where Crosby was literally on ice on pk to win the draw then gtf off. 😂😂

I think Malkin is more a complete package. If i wanted a goal scorer though easily Crosby over Malkin no doubt. (I think i just repeated myself here. My bad.)

Yeah... Butt Im also not. Edmonton hasnt been able to adjust to the way Florida is smothering them out. They were far too reliant on the PP and that hasnt been able to do anything either.
Bob vs Skinner has been no contest.

Pre mature, but looks like Florida, and better yet, Maurice, will be getting their first cup.

Fun Fact, I had the opportunity to see the Stanley Cup up close, and in fact Touch it. Stanley tours around each year to various cities, but this one particulat time the cup was going to soimeone's place who was a retired Hockey Icon- who I worked for. I dont know if it was the OG cup or they bring a "dummy" but I do remember the hair standing on the back of my neck seeing some of the names, that every boy (in my day) wanted to be , especially from OG 6 teams.

I loved that answered goal. So easy and I thought Florida was just smothering them along with the crowd. Rangers are just a pinch from getting better to hang with these two.
 
Well... Damn. Florida really grinded that one out.
I do not agree with giving the losing team player the MVP. As much as McJesus deserved it, Bob won the cup, he deserved it way more.

It's rare to see that but McDavid carried that team. I think people don't like him because he's the golden child but many hate him because he's American dominating a sport that has historically been dominated by Canadians. Crosby got the same treatment but because he whinned like Brady.

He did have an MVP playoffs but should have been Bob tbh.

Dont get me wrong, I like him, I think hes the best player on the planet, I want to see him win a cup for his legacy and YES he had an unreal playoff... But he didnt win.
Bob had the best playoff %'s start to finish, I think he lost it over that 3 game stretch, but still, he won, he had an MVP playoff as well, winning team should default to getting the conn smythe, thats my 2 dollars on it! 😀

100% agree, he did. But so did Bob. Best save % of the playoffs almost start to finish.
