but if scotland joins the EU, they will have no no independence at all.
no difference. actually worse.
swap being 'ruled' from London (with very generous handouts, and a say in how they are run), with being ruled by Brussels. (almost definitely fewer handouts etc, and almost NO say. do the Scots really think the EU will care or pay any attention to them? scotland is smaller that poland.)

They don't want to because we have huge renewable energy resources, mineral resources, and water resources not to mention our world leadership in renewable and other technologies. The UK as a whole makes a fortune out of us and we see very little in return.

Don't expect a rational answer from RandomMoronUK though, he's a 3rd rate troll with an obvious agenda to push.

Well as the SNP is a single goal party, it'll have to pretty much rewrite its constitution in order to survive but as it's the only party that has Scotland's interests at the core of its philosophy, I think it'll be just fine. It's likely that Scottish Labour and Scottish Conservatives will continue as well. To survive, all of the parties will have to be independent of the UK parties.

We would be fine on our own.

Well maybe if and when independence comes, Scotland would be wise to ensure a "Scotland first" approach by all who live there - irrespective of their background.

There's no secret that immigration can be a problem in some cases, and especially if you have people who come in purposely that do not want to assimilate or follow the law of the land.

Having said that, America wouldn't be what it is today without bloodshed or war, same same with all the other countries - conquer or be conquered is the name of the game I guess.

The UK map would look very different if Northern Ireland and Scotland became independent but it's probably about time anyways, no one really loses if independence comes, you can always have and keep a relationship with England - probably would make it better monetarily and resources wise.

What would the currency in Scotland be called if it achieved independence?

Well we've always been a progressive and tolerant nation so we'll have to see how things would develop. We have a fairly straightforward definition of resident of "someone who has made their home in Scotland and intends to stay and live here". Pretty straightforward but it'd be easy enough to add something along the lines of "and seek and hold gainful employment to contribute to the Scottish economy" if necessary. We already have devolved tax raising powers and devolved healthcare among other devolved powers so it's not exactly a huge leap to hand over the few reserved powers that remain with the UK government and wish us well for the future.

We would then be able to see stronger ties with Europe (the country voted solidly against the Brexit scam) and that would tie us closer to Ireland as well. The opportunities are huge and exciting. We'd nationalise our power generation pretty quickly (our water authority has been kept out of the private sector's hands) and then we could trade the huge energy production potential with not only the UK (we'd get paid for it at long last), but Europe as well. We could also charge the UK for any water piped south too and collect lease money for the privilege of siting their military bases here.

Everyone makes a big deal of what currency we'd use when it really doesn't matter and can be any publicly traded and secured currency base. I think we'd probably stick with the pound and continue to print our own version of that (we currently print our own with notes issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Bank of Scotland, and the Clydesdale Bank). I wouldn't imagine that would change or need to change for the immediate future.

“They”…You can’t blame (or call for the death of) a whole nationality or a whole race for what a few people from that race or nationality have done.

I’m being careful to not engage too much in this discussion because I can see a whole load of forums (and common decency) rules being broken.

Put the broad brush down. The terrorists are the ones that plan and commit the acts of terror, the rest of the group/race/population are ordinary folk just the same as you or I with much the same priorities for life

I've got far more political and social awareness than you by the sound of it. Of course, if you think you can't talk to me because I'm likely to strongly disagree with your use of a broad brush then that's another thing entirely...

Ohh and PS they ain’t gonna need a group to fly over and fly planes ✈️ into a building anymore that WAS 2001 ! We are in 2025 they are sending one or two MAX to do these acts so don’t tell me they ain’t in. A temple 🛕 planning this with a group they are and if you think otherwise you might aswell be first in line to the people they attack it’s a THEY !!!! Don’t be fooled by social media
