We have a house panther. Cats for me, easier to take care of. Many don't find them affectionate which is simply not true. Our house panther is most happy when she is between me and my wife, making biscuits, with a purr so loud sounds like an old man snoring.
Dogs are great too but take a bit more work.

I think hamster lovers are more inclined toward dogs, since cats eat hamsters and dogs only Play with them.😏
