I sat up abrubtly, in a cold sweat. I looked at the alarm clock next to me on the bedside-table. 1:42. Dang it, she must have been out cold to sleep that late.
'Whoa, and I thought I was an early riser...'
She remembered bits an peices of a dream she had, an intruder, her using her abilities, falling from her window....she glanced over at it. Now the sill was decorated with ceremonious candles, a book of The Essences, and a shattered mirror with it's peices glued back into its crude template. The window and curtains were closed.
Sighing, she got up and went to the closet. She pulled out a pair of dark jeans, and a black shirt which she was going to wear over a red long-sleeved shirt. She also pulled out some black-and-white converses from the dissaray at the floor of the closet.
She got a towel, her soaps, shampoes, conditioners, the likes, and headed out the door. She went down four doors until she reached the girls' showers. There was someone in one of them, but she chose one at the end of the long, rounded room. She turned the water to luke-warm, and waited until it got a little colder. She couldn't stand hot showers, it made her skin crawl.
She came out of the bathroom, hair dried and straightened (though it didn't need to be), put in a long ponytail with the wisps too short to put up framing her face. She had on the clothes earlier picked. Her eyes showed tiredness, even though she had slept for ten hours or so.
She walked down the hall a bit, and began to explore. She went up and down staircases, and through a lot of hallways. She stopped in one though. She bent down to tie her shoe when she heard a loud sigh and a bit of murmur from a nearby classroom. She looked up and heard the door slam. She saw a girl, (apparently "Seeker") stride quickly from the room. The door reopened, and another girl came out. The second girl, Alethea, rushed after Seeker.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Alethea asked.
Kiari didn't hear the reply, if she even gave one yet. A boy, a little younger, ducked in between the lockers, eaves-dropping.
'Some people are just too nosy.' Kiari said to herself, in a mocking sort of way. It was time to flex her talents a bit, no?
She pulled on invisibility and walked quickly and silenty to where the boy stood. She chuckled to herself quietly. She concentrated and brought some of the energy particles to create darkness, it started it out slow, and small, then consumed the boy entirely. Time to shake things up.
As the boy began to react to his sudden blindness, Kiari leaned against the lockers opposite where he stood, A small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. Let's just wait for THIS one.
