Female UM?

I made a point in another thread that sometimes, people prefer speaking to a particular gender in regards to issues.

Could we consider getting a female UM for this reason?

A woman reporting sexual harassment might not want to deal with a male, for example. On the other foot, a male might not want to speak to a female... or maybe he does want to speak to a female over more sensitive issues that wouldn't be deemed masculine or something. It could also help to have someone see something from another viewpoint.

Not disregarding current UMs (Well, not the majority of them) being approachable or anything. Just think it might be a nice idea to have both a female and a male in a UM position for moments where this might be the case?

Thoughts?

That’s why I said it should only be closed on conclusion. I didn’t say user happy and understood, I thought that would be self explanatory since many admins do this to confirm complaint closed etc.

When it’s a slam dunk justified kick/ban, I often just respond and ask for it to be closed without waiting for the complainant to comment any further and I think others do too.

I get the conflict of interest point but even if there was a rule that UM’s can’t close threads that relate to their room, they could just tag the other UMs to ask for closure.

If UMs were here to supervise admins then I completely get the argument for UMs who are room Admins not having the power to close their own threads.

I get that Inksndtits and would agree except there is a bit too much bias with current forum admins minus 1. I think with the current lineup it is not a good system as a number of complaints are too easily edited, deleted and sent packing if it makes the UM/ room admin look bad. What is going on now is intolerable. The whole Louise thread showed the level of bias here and that needs to be stopped.
I am not making fun of his name. Giving my own spin on a users name is what I do. You should thank God, Mohamed, Buddha, Siva Thor Batman or insert any God or superhero's name, you are not Rapinoes Smirking Revenge or Keep Fishin.
