All I’ve learnt from this thread is that oats in your pants helps repel… umm… sloots

Grit or granules - these natural mineral products form a sharp, gritty repellent barrier or suck the moisture from the slime that sloots exude as they move. Bran, oats or coffee grounds. Put a thick layer around the plant, sloots will eat it, swell up and become easy picking for birds.
