Guest posting in main

Hi folks,

I know this has come up before but I think it needs reinforcing.

I am once again requesting the site considers banning guests from being allowed to share images.

On /sex/, bots (presumably rolling IPs via VPN) are running routines where they are logging into the site as a guest with a gibberish name and posting links to a page where pederasts can go and download gross stuff. The way that they are doing this is uploading an image with an example of the content (the links are in text added to the image).

In other words: due to bots posting images, users in the main chat of /sex/ are repeatedly exposed to child pornography that they have not requested and are not on the site to access. The vast majority of users find this repugnant. This isn’t “one bad egg”. It’s a systematic routine exposing users to the most repulsive stuff imaginable. The mods kick as soon as they can - but they can only do remediation not prevention, they cannot prevent the guest logging in and immediately posting this stuff.

Currently guests cannot share images on /sex/ privately but can share them publicly. Because 800-900 people at a time are seeing the images in main, I’d argue this is more damaging than the other way around - although I’d prefer that there is no way this stuff could get to me (the bot could just write a script PMing the same image).

The problem is getting worse if anything. The site can either decide to take serious, meaningful action on this, or the site is complicit. Which is it?

Hey,

I'll tag @Anne-uk as you specifically mention sex chat but only the site management/owners can change the setting that allows guests to post images.

For what it's worth, in the rooms where guests can't post images (my own included), these people create registered accounts that then post the images from the registered accounts 🙁 When they do that, the argument then moves on to whether image posting in main should be limited to VIPs or even more restrictive and not allow image posting at all. I can see why that wouldn't be desirable because the chat rooms becomes extremely restrictive and outdated particularly when compared with social media.

This is why we have Mods and Admins to remove these vile posts.

I'm in agreement with you @HH-HS. To my knowledge, guests are only allowed to post images in the two Adult Chat rooms and Sex Chat. I also mod an 18+ chat and, although we still see our fair share of vile and illegal content, it is less than the amount that is posted in Adult or Sex Chat. Although not a solution to the problem, requiring ******** to register accounts to post images is at least some degree of dissuasion from doing so. A shout-out to the Adult and Sex Chat staff for moderating the content that they do in an effort to keep the site clean.

@Inkandtatts brings up a good point that the only ones that can change what rank of chatter can post images are @Administrator and @Chatmaster. The mods and admins aren't complicit about the issue, but unfortunately don't have any control over it. The best they can do is continue to moderate it, remove illegal content, and report offenders to the authorities. It might be worth dropping CM a PM about your concerns.

The previous Secks Chat Admin would agree with you. However the owner blacklisted her much like a lot of the ex staff on this site for standing up against this.

Careful now. Don’t want you telling da tr00f

Thanks folks - I just want to be clear that I’m not blaming the volunteer staff for this, I’m aware they can’t change the settings and they do what they can to get rid of the images as soon as possible.

I do understand what @Inkandtatts is saying about bots then registering to post gross stuff as users - we have plenty of easily identifiable registered bots (for want of a better term) - but as @LostCause is saying, at least forcing a captcha and an email address slows it down and reduces the risk.

It comes down to whether the site owners think it is acceptable. The lack of vigour in resolving the issue is mind-blowing. No other site would make so little effort to prevent their users being exposed to this stuff.

It's called a kickback.

Monetary exchange for allowing people to link their sex sites. This boosts traffic and thereby revenue for both sites. It's how backlinks work and allows chat avenue to be #1.

If the owners wanted to eliminate this, they could but they don't see it as a problem.

Funny how these sexlink "guests" basically disappeared when the site was upgraded to V.08. You'd almost think they're bots who weren't up to date! I guess they're back now, what a shame.

Respectfully, I don't think the OP is referring to bots that send you links to other chat sites. He's talking about guests who post images of CSAM in main advertising CP for sale. These are not one in the same.

Yeah, I understand that the Christina bot is advertising links that have been paid for and that’s how Chat Ave generates revenue.

I assume Chat Ave is *not* receiving kickbacks from users on guest accounts posting underage sex GIFs and links to nefarious file sharing links.

Hi, im tottaly with this idea. They don't have to create an acc, so it's really easy for them to fast changing ip and creating new guest. Please change it as fast as you can. I see them every day, it's fcking disgusting
