Alright @TheLeigh id appreciate some insight into this, I am on general chat, my user name is 00Xye on there. I tend to post the message in chat “I’m looking for new friends if anyone wants to chat” and the first thing on my profile says no minors, between all of the mods I have ran into in my time on site, which I don’t really like getting on if a mod isn’t, I’ve never received this comment.

I will start by saying the rule itself here is not the issue. I was asked to put 18+ in my messages to which I asked why it was suddenly an issue when many other mods had not said anything. I was told it’s just a rule and to just listen. The issue is that this rule is listed nowhere on the site and this is the only mod who has ever said anything about it. If this is the genuine rule I’m happy to follow it but it needs to be listed explicitly in the actual rules because of the fact that this room has adults and minors, we can’t be expected to just know that and follow it when we’ve never had issues before.
 
Okay so question, I could be wrong but do you guys not do stackable kick times based on offense? Like for example if someone was kicked for 5 mins for politics but then later got in trouble for like just arguing with someone would that second kick be a new 5 minute kick under a different offense or do you build no matter what?

Cause I’m confused how I ended up with a 15 minute kick for a joke.

I underlined the violation. As you can see, some actions carry no warning and are separate violations with zero influence from other actions.
That is all of the clarity we will give on our mod SOP's. Hope this helps you avoid further actions in our chat room.
 
I wasn’t soliciting though, I made a comment that if someone thought vip+ for the outrageous price of $50 ($70 if you count how much the original membership cost) was worth it then they should give me $50 for groceries cause I feel like wasting $50 on something so stupid in this economy and then telling everyone how worth it is, is a bit inconsiderate of others and makes you seem a bit arrogant. I don’t see how this fell under soliciting. If someone could explain to me how that conversation warranted a 15 minute kick I’d appreciate it.
 
I will provide the clarity that the comment was out of line and an impulsive thing I said however I don’t see how we ended up here.
 
You have no obligation to upgrade to VIP+. Some are and are enjoying their purchase.

We dont action "jokes" we action posts. Be mindful of that context moving forward. Ill remove the kick early. Lets move on.

Our rules include moderator discretion, and they specifically state that all moderator directions must be followed. If a mod gives you a direction and you choose not to follow it, that can be enough to result in an action. You don’t have to agree with every decision, but the direction still needs to be followed in that moment.

If you ever have a question about why a mod made a particular decision, please ask. You can ask the mod directly or come to me, even in DMs. I’m happy to look into it and get clarification if needed. I’ve asked mods myself why they made certain decisions plenty of times, so there’s nothing wrong with asking.

In this case, it sounds most like the comment was intended as a joke but didn’t come across that way. I do also appreciate you acknowledging that it may have been out of line. Mods are watching for specific words, phrases and things that need to be addressed while also dealing with everything else going on in the room. They aren’t always going to have the time or context to determine whether something was meant as a joke, especially when it falls into an area that violates the rules.

As far as the specifics of how staff actions are determined or implemented, I’m not going to get into internal staff matters publicly. The important part for chatters is to follow the rules and moderator directions.

Again, I know this has already been resolved, and thank you @Drock for sorting it. I’m just responding to clarify where I stand on it.
