If you have been kicked/banned and want to question it or raise a complaint about it, there is some key information that you will need to provide to help with a resolution. This is listed below.
How to raise a query/complaint
You can, either (1) Create a thread with your complaint in the Kick/Ban Forum. Click here to do that, or (2) Send a Private Message (PM) to the Admin of the room. Admin details for each room can be found by clicking here
If you raise your query/complaint in a thread: Tagging Moderators/Admins
If you tag the Moderator that kicked you, they should get a notification of this thread and can comment. You should also tag the Room Admin. To tag someone, use the @ symbol and start typing their name. You can then click/tap on it.

Screenshots can help provide some context. If you wish to include a screenshot in your complaint, please follow the information here on how to provide screenshots.
How long will it take?
All Chat Avenue staff are unpaid volunteers with lives away from CA. Your complaint is likely to be addressed the same day but this is not guaranteed. We are a global community and as such it's likely that staff members will be in time zones that differ from yours so you should also consider this when raising your complaint.
If you become abusive or create multiple threads/posts on Forums, the chances of your complaint being upheld will be significantly reduced.
SPAM bans
If you’ve been banned with the reason listed as “SPAM,” it doesn’t necessarily mean you were spamming.
Our system is designed to automatically detect certain words or phrases that may be considered inappropriate. In some cases, this can trigger a ban even if no actual spamming occurred. For example, typing something like “I am 15” in an 18+ room might be flagged by the system, resulting in a ban labeled as SPAM.
These detections can sometimes be false positives. When that happens, an admin will review the case and may lift the ban if it was applied in error.
- What is your username in the room?
- Which room were you kicked/banned from?
- Are you complaining about a kick or a ban?
- What was the reason given for the kick/ban?
- How long was the kick/ban for?*
- Why do you feel the kick/ban was not justified?
- Date and approx. time of kick/ban:
- Do you know the name of the Moderator/Admin that kicked/banned you?

If you choose to raise your issue in a public thread, you should note:
- This is a public forum and you are choosing, by making the complaint public, to give anyone (including non-staff members) the ability to comment on your complaint
- Some Admins require complaints to be sent to them privately and, in that case, your thread is likely to be closed and you will be advised to contact the relevant admin privately
- You should tag the Admin in your complaint post and, if you know the name of the Moderator that kicked you from the room, it is worthwhile tagging them Moderator so that they can be alerted to your complaint

Please be aware that Forum threads/posts are public and anyone can comment on a thread/post created in Forums including staff and other users. Do not be surprised if other users express an opinion on your kick/ban if you post your complaint publicly.
