I think access to certain forums should be restricted to underage users

Recently, there was a thread posted here that contained content that is not suitable for underage users. Even the person that posted the thread in the Adult Forum had no idea that children could easily see the thread simply by clicking on What's new and anyone can see that. Just like movie theaters do not let children go see Rated R, NC-17 and X rated movies because its contains content that is not suitable for children to see, so I believe that Forums should be set up in a similar way if possible.

I definitely agree with all of it. Tho I think it’d be tough to implement/police. Anyone can lie about their age if they want to. Kinda like when you go to a liquor website for example, it makes you enter your age to make sure you’re 21. There’s nothing to stop a kid from entering a false date. I wish I had better answers

@Rachel_NY pointless, if you put i don't know lets say d*k Samtard won't move it to the adult sub-forum, but what he will do is delete posts and edit posts i gurantee this will be deleted not moved to adult section.

You completely missed the point of this thread in your overzealous attempt to smear a staff member 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Very good suggestion. I hope it’s taken into consideration. 🤞🏻

That’s true but at least it would be SOME type of system deterrent for the three or four honest kids 😂

I like this basic idea behind these suggestions (i have no idea if it's "doable" from a platform perspective) a few thoughts:

1) as @LostCause. suggested elsewhere, perhaps forum ages could be used to determine access to adult forum.

2) A concern might be, that if changes were made and only 18+ were believed to have access to the adult forum, the forum might spiral into a perpetual chat toga party of sorts- and there are actual chatroom(s) for that.

3) You suggest the site could possibly limit what users "see" on 'whats new' based on forums age? This suggestion has merit too. Not sure if you know -- but in another thread it was mentioned that any guest can see all forums - ands guests don't have to register.

4) Different versions of this have been suggested in the past, @Chatmaster is the only person who can choose whether to enact these changes - (might be a lot of work considering the number of users) but as TD said I hope it gets considered.

Just adding in that it would be nice to have this in both directions to likewise keep adults out of the Kid and Teen forums. In an ideal world, the age set upon registering would change the content available to ********. The "What's New" page would exclude content not appropriate for your age range, and the Home page of forums would likewise exclude forum sections inappropriate to a given age bracket. These sections would then become visible based on age credentials, similar to how different forum sections are visible and available to differently ranked staff members.

I’ll be the first one to lobby for some sort of age verification system, tho I just can’t see any way to truly enforce it because anyone can lie about their age. And there’s no way a photo verification system would ever work especially when it comes to minors. Someone smarter than me hopefully has some answers tho.

That could help I think. Like, when you enter your age A) you can’t change it and B) it restricts your access to certain forums. Could even work with rooms as well. Just baby steps for ideas I know but it’s a start

It's not ideal because it's based on the honesty system, but I believe the age credentials are more secure on forums than they are in chat. In chat, you can adjust your age to suit your mood. And if I recall correctly, birthdates can't be changed on forums once registered. Could an adult lie and set their age to that of a child upon registering to see the youth sections? Yes. But if an age system was implemented, doing so would also lock them out of the adult sections and they would eventually age out of the youth sections as the years roll by. And similarly, yes a kid could set their birthdate to that of an adult to see adult sections, but it would result in them being locked out of the youth sections where their peers are. It's not perfect, but being locked out of one section indefinitely to view another is at least some incentive to be truthful when listing your birthdate.

I just want to point out that the op that created that post in Adult was the same guy who spammed his D pic to multiple ******** in VGC. He knew what he was doing and he was pushing buttons.

Edit to say: I’m in no way condoning what he did or saying it should be accessible to minors. It should and anything that keeps them away from adult content is a worthy upgrade

Very good points. 😃 Definitely potential there

Jesus Christ will you shut the hell up. You’re more annoying than he is with your random targeted posts
Isn't it amazing he came at me first but you and him having a blue name stick together coarse your mods one chat which has 2 so you spend your life on forums and the other has over 1000 and he trolls other members how nice

You literally target every single post he makes. The man can’t say a damn thing without you sticking your greasy nose in his business. And you know what? If you were less concerned with jumping on the “cool kids” bandwagon, you’d see he’s actually lightened up a lot.
