I'm sure this idea is not original. And it probably should be directed to Chatmaster. But since it relates to Girls Chat, I will post it here:
I feel that it's unfair that we can't have the same blocks on Guest accounts as we do Registered users...which I think are about a month.
The guests are far and away the most disruptive elements in the room (there are exceptions, of course...but just saying in overall quantity). They bring almost no constructive value to the room. But we can only block them, and when they log off or are kicked and come back, we have to block them again. This is unfair. If you don't want us responding to trolls, pervs, pedos, incest and animal freaks, etc in the room...give us a tool other than a temporary block. Why should I be forced to block the same guest again and again every single day...or 10 times a day in some cases, when I can block an irritating registered user once a month??
This would be for the overall benefit of the room. We keep hearing about how the room is meant to be a protected environment for under-18 users. But, in fact, most of the really gross people who attack our age group are the guests. Yes, they can be blocked and banned if we report them (if a mod happens to be around). But then, when they are around...we (or at least *I*) get criticized for over-reporting. And the kicks can last for as little as 5-15 mins anyway. What kind of protection is that, really?? Everybody with half a brain (and all the mods are plenty smart and have the best of intentions) knows when these guests are being creepy, but the rules are such that if they aren't explicit enough, they can't kick them. And even if they do, they have to warn and mute first. So a lot of times, they have the run of the room. Why not give the power of choice to the room users to ignore them right away with a lasting ignore, regardless of who is around?
I would just appreciate some consideration of this point. But I feel that we have inadequate options now.
