SPEAKING OF BABIES. My kid keeps pulling my laptop charger out and every time I'm like, "Athena, Mommy said NO." And she starts laughing at me. And then playing peekaboo.

Goddamn it, she's too ****ing cute.

So I've been reading the Dune series lately... And I'm thinking of coming with a fucking Dune roleplay. Discuss.

Well we've no fucking chance then. I'll start thinking up a cool death for my character at the hands of Dunecat.
 
Just a few little things Raziel and I raged about in MSN this morning.​

i. Less controlling of other peoples' characters.
ii. A LOT less random OOC posts that have nothing to do with the actual RPing itself. I don't care if it's done in OOC marks in the same post as your RP but to just randomly post in OOC with no RP attached to it is kind of... annoying.
iii. Less annoying font colors like them neon greens and those cyan blues. It makes people's eyes bleed and we have to highlight over your text to actually read it.
iv. Less.. 'omg my character is so OP and can kill things that are so badass and kill everything but me'. I.E, more tragedies.

More to come when we both can think and we've had sleep, lol.​

We usually ask first, and if not, always say they can change it if they so wish. It's never drastic, and so far no one has cared.

Out of character, out of context, or out of control? Either way, no one's been annoyed, except apparently those who haven't been around. You see where I'm going.

EDIT: I actually agree shit needs to go down, or ehm "tragedies," but none of our srs bsns RPs have really gone far enough for shit to really go down. It's kind of hard to keep pace when there's only four people posting that much. Everyone's pretty much god modding in Awakening because the sole reason for that RP is pretty much an interactive version of Azra's Twhylight threads, where we get to fuck up glitterfags. That being said, T-1 is more than welcome.

ii. I AM around, I just don't RP.. For some of the reasons I stated above lol.

I don't take RPing so seriously that out of character conversations bother me like that. What's wrong with saying you found something funny or badass in someone's post? We're friends having fun with one another, this isn't some hardcore roleplaying where every last detail has to be perfect, it's just something fun.
I think you need to take it less seriously, or if you really can't, then maybe this isn't the board for you.

As for controlling of characters, sometimes it's hard to progress if you don't do a little. Otherwise every conversation would be extremely awkward and take forever to get through.

And as Cory said, none of the RPs have really gotten far enough into things for terrible tragedies to happen yet.

And the awesome characters thing, well...the only place I can think of is The Awakening, and it's intended to be like that. They're badass, untouchable Ancient Vampires, trying to rid the world of Edward Cullen types.

Seriously, from your complaints it just seems like you're taking this waaay too seriously. RP IS SRS BIZNIZ and all that. It's just...for fun. I don't do it because I'm trying to... I don't even know what hardcore everything-has-to-be-perfect roleplaying achieves, aside from plenty of arguments and people getting pissed off.
I'd rather just be hanging out with friends and having fun to be honest.


Just my two cents.
